Marathon Advice Wanted

I haven't really run since my school days (compulsory cross-country, 25 years ago) but have been averaging about 12 -15 hours bike training per week since then (road and mtb). Some friends persuaded me to enter a half-marathon last weekend, on no training, which I completed in 1 hour 16 mins and thoroughly enjoyed. The following 3 days, however, I was almost unable to walk (different muscles from cycling, I suppose). The 'friends', whom I don't think expected me to finish the race, seemed quite surprised with my time and now want me to do a marathon at the end of April. Given my total lack of running experience, does anyone think this is feasible, as it seems a bloody long way to run to me. I don't entirely trust their advice, so your comments would be welcome.
