I haven't really run since my school days (compulsory cross-country, 25 years ago) but have been averaging about 12 -15 hours bike training per week since then (road and mtb). Some friends persuaded me to enter a half-marathon last weekend, on no training, which I completed in 1 hour 16 mins and thoroughly enjoyed. The following 3 days, however, I was almost unable to walk (different muscles from cycling, I suppose). The 'friends', whom I don't think expected me to finish the race, seemed quite surprised with my time and now want me to do a marathon at the end of April. Given my total lack of running experience, does anyone think this is feasible, as it seems a bloody long way to run to me. I don't entirely trust their advice, so your comments would be welcome.

Go for it. You probably won't be able to walk for another three days afterwards, but walking is a much overrated activity anyway. Anyhow, you obviously have a real talent for running--don't waste it.
Let us know how you get on!!!
;-)
Good luck, and congrat's again on a fantastic time! Wish I could run the piglet equivalent of that, but not in this lifetime, I'm afraid
please
Do some training and keep us informed. Are you living out there? Are there any running clubs local to you?
Do the running training and you should do well!
Best of luck with it!
