I miss my body fat!!!

Just wanted to say that I miss my small podge now that it's cold! It used to keep me warm and I never really felt the cold.

Usually at this time of year I would be about a stone heavier but since I started running, obviously not this year. As a result I think it's efin freezing!

I went out for a run last night (-3 ish)wearing more than I would have done to go for a walk before, great run though!!

Anybody else feel the same?? Any nuggets of wisdom to keep slim people from feeling downright icy and how exactly do you measure % body fat?

  • You do realise dont you CN that half the forum now hates you.

Its taken me months to to get to that stage. Good work fella!
  • Yeah CN do what I do, keep training but drink heavily as well...hey presto your cosy little warmer will be back v-soon.

What do you mean half Chimp?

CN, if you weren't overweight before make sure you're getting enough carbs in otherwise soon you'll start getting tired as well as cold.
  • Well Chimp, someone had to take the pressure off you and I am used to it.

Hang on, that's obviously now the people who percieve that they need to lose weight, (but not necessarily) and the anti smokers from my last thread. It must be 2/3rds of the forum by now!

(Keeps head down for rest of the day, only daring to peep into non contentious forums under cover of darkness)

  • GlennGlenn ✭✭✭
Just for the record CN my comment was directed at Chimp not you.
  • CN, go and call Edinburgh a provincial backwater on Events (Edinburgh Marathon).

That makes'em laugh, it really does!
  • GlennGlenn ✭✭✭
And I dissed the North (all of it) the other day and even people I thought were my friends were giving me a rough time!
  • What comment's that Glenn?

"What do you mean half Chimp"

Was that aimed at me then? Charmed I'm sure!
  • Well, I have to say that at a respectible 14 stone and 3 pounds, the cold hasn't really affected me at all. It was a bit of a shock finding myself at this weight... I guess it was that 3 month training break. Here I go on the mission to lose the excess 2 stone...
  • GlennGlenn ✭✭✭
See! Now Chimp hates me too!
  • Obviously took me too long to respond, damn those tricky work related interuptions.

Thanks for the support Glenn, no wish to diss the North at present Chimp. I've never been much overweight, (oops that's really torn it!!!!)

Still consuming upwards of 20 pints per week, should this be increased and factored into my training programme, ( well if i had one)?

Suspect you need to ensure you always have that crucual kebab after the beer CN.
  • Is that like one of your blood doners Glenn?
  • Hey Glenn we were only teasing, we didn't really take offense to the comment where you TOTALY SLAGGED OFF ANY WHERE BETWEEN WATFORD AND ....was it whitby?

OOops sorry to remind all the northerners of that one.

Now people can hate CN, Chimp and Glenn....

  • GlennGlenn ✭✭✭
BBB, I'm hurt. How narrow minded do you think I am? It was Huntingdon, not Watford.
  • I didn't want to be hated, i just wanted to be warm and loved, sob, sob! Now everyone in the north will hate me cos I'm in the same thread as Glenn. No offence!

    Creeps away all miserable.
  • GlennGlenn ✭✭✭
Well that's that thread killed off. Another productive day's work.
  • CN,
I've always really felt the cold (still love it though) because I've always been slim. The solution is simple: heat your house adequately, and wear wool!!! Yes, when I spent last New Year's in Norway with my b/f's family, his mother was always loading heavy woollen jumpers on me. That worked!!

Oh yes, and drink hot drinks, that helps too.
  • So the thread didn't die, well done for a useful suggestion Hilde.

I had thought of hibernation but the firm don't think much of the idea.

Will consider the Kebab though and possibly warm beer.

Hildegard hates me because I was rude about Oxford and Icelandic sagas btw.

Just thought, another quite healthy thing would be to make sure you have a couple of handfuls of nuts each day. Protein, calories and the right kind of fat.
  • Well you were very silly Glenn since Hildegard is very slim with long legs.

I love those Icelandic holidays for the elderly Hildegard!

Public Service Announcement - Icelandair are SO desparate to fill the seats on their overpriced flights that they've introduced a £138 return fare from heathrow!

No, don't all rush at once to escape the snow ....
  • Nuts, sounds good to me.
  • Some whales feel slim next to me - i only really get cold when really really tired

At the risk of bringing this thread back to where it started (hatred, northerner baiting and weight loss, I think).... I've lost 5 kg since 1 January. And yes, I am feeling the cold! Thermal 'big girls' pants' are the answer!

(See DavidB, I told you I'd get pants in a thread somewhere!)
  • At last, some people who don't think i was extracting the urine.

Well done LizzyB I hope you feel good for the weight loss. As I said I miss it cos I'm cold and none of my trousers fit properly.

I didn't intend to lose weight, i run for stress relief and it works wonders + many other benefits.

Godzilla, take Hildegards advice and wrap up warm when knackered.

  • LizzyBLizzyB ✭✭✭
Actually, CN, I feel terrible for the weight loss! food poisoning, you see. Not that I mind losing 5 kg or anything though.
  • OOPS sorry to hear that Lizzy, all fixed I hope?

Gotta go home now, will drink beer as this is a rest day and contemplate the intake of massive carbs.

  • LizzyB,
Hmmm, I shall have to look into that Icelandair offer - seems to good to be true. But aren't you still having unseasonably warm temperatures over there? Wouldn't want it to rain or anything.

Me hate you? How silly! I merely take pity on your Tab connections... :)

Elderly? Well, it is my birthday this month, but I won't be that old. I wonder if it will make me a faster runner though? We have snow here, and I'm so looking forward to running in it!
