Geordies and newcastle.....hhhhmmmm Im sure kingston park[newcastle rugby ground] is in northumberland, the next county down from scotland!!!!!And nothing[beer or wine]is brewed in newcastle now.The famous brown ale has moved to gateshead!!! (awaits our scottish cousins reply).
Not sure what your point is about Northumberland Mick.
Until 1974 when some April Fool of a politician decided your town (as it was then) and my city should be in the same county, Newcastle was in Northumberland.
Someone mentioned a sore foot, I think it was Alisonclair. Sore in what way?
My right foot's sore through from the ankle to the middle of the arch (or where the arch would be if I didn't have flat feet!). I think it's probably down to weaving in between people so much. I will go to see a podiatrist or physiotherapist when I get time but, for now, running's not possible.
I really miss running, though. It's weirdly addictive. Great to see we've got our fair share of teachers here. Having said that, my first placement last week finished with Friday night in the pub, so teachers are a bad influence! Not only did I drink too much but I must've smoked about 40 cigarettes (quit in April but hadn't drunk since)!
Just been out - first run since last weekend. Only did about a mile and a half, then walked to picked up my kids. Hard work though - the run, not getting the kids! Still, it gives me a base to start again from, and I'm going to build up from there. Am on a mission now to get faster, fitter and f... f.... err slimmer!
Scooby - whaddya mean teachers are a bad influence??!! I've just been shouted at by a couple of students from the local school for walking on the pavement with my 2 littlies while they wanted to ride 3 abreast on their bikes! I gave them a piece of my mind - good job they're not at my school cos they'd really be in for it if they were!
Was that your first run in the new shoes scilab? How were they?
And I haven't been posting as I have been swamped under a pile of marking, preparation, report writing and UCAS application forms. It's such hard work being a teacher. Think I need another holiday ;0)
Evening peeps! I have had a very busy day, no running today for me, going to leave my legs alone after last nights spin class and go for 5 or 6 tomorrow evening.
haven't got them yet - only ordered them the other day! I'm hoping they might come by the weekend.
I know what you mean - this month seems to be going on for ever - can't believe it's still only September! We don't have a sixth form so at least we're spared that hassle with UCAS. We're going through major restructuring at the mo - TLRs and all that - talk about staff morale dropping like a stone!
When's the liverpool santa dash san? i fancy doing it, I don't live far from liverpool (warrington) and it would be good preparation for the half in march.
just popped into say hello. Anyone found a good forum for people who've entered FLM and now thinking arrgh! I've had a quick look but there seems to be millions of different threads and I just want a friendly, supportive one like this one's predessessor was (prob spelt that wrong)
Went running tonight for the first time since GNR went to a running club but it was disappointing. I went out with one guy which was fine but wife was left on her own to run round the track. When I got back she was really upset it took a lot for her to go and she was told there were people there of all standards. It has put us both off joining a club even though I am sure it would help us in the long term.
No one offered to take me to the pub tonight so had to go for a run. (I suppose I could have run up to the pub) Did a very easy 5K in 31mins - a nice gentle return to running.
scilab - thanks for the info on the Great2Run course & many congrats on your pass. I'm a pharmacist so the medical diagnosis bit may be a bit easier for me.
alisonclair - I don't know which team youv'e been watching but Alan Shearer is definately not black! You may be right about the grey hair though!
JohnAirey - I too suffered sore nipples - well nipple actually - for the first time ever about 2 days after the GNR. I put it down to the (cheap) charity T shirt. all cleared up now.
phil 13.1 - clubs. I too feel that I would benefit from joining but was put off when my email to my local club - Huddersfield Road Runners - took 8 weeks to get a response!
Going to try the photo site again now. Wish me luck!

;0)
you know what I meant.
Going to get some grub now.
As I have said though, my team lost on Saturday, so I'm not getting too involved in the debate :0(

Taken together, heaven !!

Tyne & Wear doesn't really exist does it?
