Now it has to be getting time to wake this up??
Only 7 weeks to go, so I figured it would be a giggle to try and follow one of RW's 10k programmes - albeit having to start on week 2!
Doing the 5day 40-50min plan: that means quick intervals tonight. 6x600m with 400m recoveries with 2 miles warm up and cool down either side. Why mix miles and metres together like that??
Got my race number through last week...
Gentle 7 miler for me tonight - bit chilly though!!
I managed my 8 x 600m on the treadmill last night and another 4 mile or so this morning - legs a bit tired but lookin good so far:)

Did a cagey 7 miler last night - left knee a bit tender and wanting to make sure I'm ok for next Sunday (10K at Dunsfold).
Just doing a 5K row at lunch today and stretches etc.
I am doing a variation on the Mike Gratton sub 40 10K and achieved the goal two weeks early at the City of Salisbury 10K.
Hope to go quicker this weekend and then resting before Yeovilton..
Did this race in 04 and did 42.02 - seem to recall some inconsistency in the distance markers!!
Left knee a bit tender; go easy on it now. I like rowing, good workout without too much stres loading. Sadly won't help that much for strengthening your knee. However, at the same time, there is no impact so good for the joints:)
Do you do any other cross trainng? Such as using a swiss ball or wobble board - very good for core stability and working on those little muscles supporting ankles, knees etc.
No - I don't cross train much at all. Not enough to make a difference anyway. I do some yoga and basic strengthening/core exercise.
Wont be doing much between now and Sunday so hope to rest the knee and recover next week - properly.
I think your knee will recover well, sounds like you have most bases covered:)
V flat, one slightest of slight ups at around the 5K marker, just before the water station.
Roasting hot day when I did this in 04!
I guess it all depends on your taper....?
Longish journey for me too (from Caerphilly). Will have to talk to OH and see if he fancies yet another trip!!
What time are you aiming for with the FLM?
If you want a six miler you can always use this run as a pacer and be strict with yourself not to race - view it as a gentle run with company?
I am looking to do around 4.30. but anything sub 5 will still be taking 25mins off last year so I will be happy.
What about your wife?
Too much training through the summer when I would rather be out on my horses!

Got a pb there two years ago.
Did you do Longleat - not sure if you made it or not?? I went pretty well and went under 41 and two weeks later went sub 40 at Salisbury. So hope to go under 40 at Yeovilton too.

Yes DB I did Longleat and took 6 mins off my pb there!!
Would be good to go sub 60 but with FLM the next week I might just do a very easy plod. Sounds a great course for a pb though I will have to be very strict with myself if I do it
