JJ, no I didn't get to try the outfit on. The veil is particularly attractive though. I wonder if I could start a fashion craze wearing a white boiler-suit and leather gauntlets.
Hi JimC, yes I am. I've always been interested but have never had the time before. I wanted to get a hive for our last house but hubby suggested that I wait until we move to the country (I think he's nervous about there being bees too near the house). Now there's no reason not to get started 'cos I can site the hive in one of the conservation areas I've fenced off within the fields. There's such a lot to learn.
Hi Jim and JJ! Redhead - the beekeeping sounds fascinating. Be fab if you get a hive! Helephant has a fine beekeeper's hat that she uses on long walks...no veil though. I'm good, thanks, and half watching the footy. Went to see my lovely physio, Magic Paul, who waggled me limbs and managed to track the knee ache down to muscle at the top of the leg being very tight. Then he showed me lots of pre-run dynamic stretches, and gave me advice for after Trailwalker. Fab peep.
I am not the most efficient of beekeepers as I have 50 pounds of solid honey in a tub in my kitchen. Its been there three years because I didn't run it off into jars before it granulated. I was woorking away from home at the time and I couldn't extract and bottle in one weekend.
Lord knows how much is clogging up me hives at the moment.
Its fascinating though. Bees and Honey is a great book for beginners. I'll check the author for you.
u know, one of those wee bells that ladies of leisure ring to get their personal butlers/slaves to bring them breakfast in bed, and to dust the floor before they step out of bed, etc
