Yup can confirm they don't enforce cutoff. Think I did 4:40 last year - was sort of hoping they'd not let me out for the second run leg but no such luck
Hmm, am really warming to the idea of another BB after a day drinking, talking to Pirates, and reading about everyone's exploits at IMUK/DIM etc. Not signed up for anything this side of Roth, and need to have something to focus on besides where my next beer is coming from ... hic ...
Was thinking about starting at 9am in Cranleigh in the car park of the leisure centre linky thing
General idea is to pootle down to Shoreham-by-sea have pub lunch and then come back. The intention is to take our time and enjoy it and not be too worried about being mega fast.
Sounds cool. HH is trying to work out whether to come as well. Last time we went about 13 miles on bikes and came back, and he ran - took him the same amount of time as us. (we may have been farting around a lot and moving quite slowly.... )
I guess Shoreham is a bit further, so he might have more trouble with running there and back?
OK, I'll be along for definite, just taking my bike in on Wed for them to soak / blowtorch / whatever it is they do the old pedals off so that I can put cleats on it.
HH may or may not be with me depending on if he can get his bike working by then.....
okay - near was a bit of an exaggeration - closer to Orpington, a bit south east of there, near the amusingly named "Pratt's Bottom" and "Badger's Mount"
There's a pub in Oldham called the Pullet Inn - that always makes me smile - looking forward to one of these rides later - I have no idea where shoreham is
I've laughed at Nork Way too! The road doesn't liv eup to the name though. There's tthe Cock Inn on one of our bike routes too.
Was driving around London over the weekend and saw the amusingly named Savage Gardens - wonder if the local planner was a fan of Australian music duos?
I may be in doubt for Sunday's ride.... rode my MTB a whole 3 miles today, and my stupid mystery foot injury has swollen up again in an ouchy manner. I may have to go to the docs and get put on a two month waiting list for physio.....
GRRRR.
Or I may come along but turn back early. Will ponder.
where did the mystery foot come from Ditchy, did it just appear in your kit bag or something?
just back from Heron - forgot to take my watch to time the lap. Might pop back on Saturday if anyone's interested? The buoy at the far end was positioned about half a metre out from the reeds - feck knows who put it there, I didn't fancy swimming roudn it it was so close into the plantlife

It's about 35 miles each way which will be a mere drop in the ocean for HH
But, since we're coming into the closed season yup, maybe too long.

coastal Shoreham sounds like a lot more fun, I may even ignore the warning and have fish and chips when we get there!
You'll so regret it Bear!
A pint might go down quite nicely though

Orpington
Isn't it..... well..... erm..... a bit dodgy round there?

Surely the only way to go through Tourettes sur Loop is driving a Toyota MR2?

About to spend some time googling foot anatomy to try and work out which bit it is that ain't working...
Blimey Ditchy
