I was a bit confussled yesterday. As I came around doing the little loop bit for the second time you were still just behind me. I expected you and Phil to go past and you never did.
I am in for the 20 - and quite looking forward to it!
I am doing the FIRST 3 day a week training programme for FLM, so have already done 2 x 20milers this year - but both have consisted of smaller laps so I can use my house as a drinks 'station' - convenient but very dull - a change of scenery will be a treat
No idea how quickly I will go, but it would be nice to do it in about 2:30
No number for me either yet. Hope the course isn't too undulating as I haven't built up my distances properly. I'll be attempting to ease round in 11 min. miles.
We packed 1600 numbers, chips, fliers and programmes in enveloopes last night, and all present took boxes of them home to put in the post this morning, so they are on their way. Not a trivial task.
Checked the course on Tuesday afternoon; it is only gently undulating, I promise.
Lots for us still to do to get the show on the road; see you all there.
Looking forward to the 20. Hoping for a sub 2-50 but 3 hours will be more likely. What's it like for spectators as my wife and young son will be there. Much to see and anywhere to get a bite to eat and a coffee?
Spud, It's a pretty rural set-up. I did the 10 version a year or two ago and, from memory, the start is at a school, where there is every chance of grabbing a coffee. Other than that, very little, although there is a village pub close by. My partner hung around for me when I did the 10 miler, but I think she's planning dropping me off and shopping in Basingstoke now I'm stepping up to the 20 !
Number, chip etc arrived this morning. Still not 100% sure whether to do the race or not. Down to do the 10 miler but i've not run further than 4.5 miles for months.
I'm going to cycle around the route tomorrow and have a think about it.
The race starts at 10:30 Hope you can make it booboo. I received my number this morning. Now I have to make my mind up,do I stay the night in basingstoke or do I catch the first train on sunday?(arrive bramley at 9:42)I better ask my lady.
George, I don't know of any sports facility nearby, other than those that can be found in Basingstoke or Reading (10-15mins drive).
As for lunches, I don't know what the local pub does (Bramley Inn). However, just up the road (two miles) there is a bog-standard Brewers Fayre in Sherfield-on-Loddon (called The Loddon Bridge), where there is also The White Hart (used to be good grub there; not sure now) and The Four Horseshoes (more of a locals place?). In the same area, on the way to the M4 at Reading, there is The Jekyll and Hyde, which does good food and real ale.
I'd go for the Jekyll if only adults, or the Loddon Bridge if the kids are coming too....mind you, you might be humming if you can't find that shower first !!
Hi - really looking forward to this one now. Just did Brighton half and knocked 5 mins off my half marathon time.
Does anyone know if someone has a number and can't do it now cos I have a friend who would really like to do this race and it's apparently full. Please could you email me. Cheers

But yesterday, i just had to say NO
I'll bounce back !!
Strong lethal and conquering !!
Glad you're feeling a bit better today.
I was in far too much pain to go on
i think some years ago, i would have or could have, indeed, years ago on my own, i have done
But i'm older now, and Phillip's care has taken it's toll ...18.5 years of it
You can only do so much !!
But regardless, we are happy
We have no regrets about yesterday
Hope to see you at the end of the month at Bramley then, if I can find a number.

Anyone know if there is a leisure centre or sports centre somewhere in the area where we could shower and change ?
Any decent lunch places nearby ?
