Hi Daz yes I was at Alex Park last week with "the other Jean" from Manc Harriers - we enjoyed the race - nice people - good turnout wasn't it? - still hedging about entering but should "screw my courage to the sticking point" and go for it - I have just not put in the mileage in training since my " comeback|" in August so that is the reason for my dallying but as have entered Wilmslow Half - should be upping mileage anyway....
Claitster - was my second marathon , thoroughly enjoyed the support , chip time 3:48 . Need more practise with gels , shouldnt have used them fisrt time on a race , just thought I would be ok (cast iron stomach and all that ) . Only had 2 and a bit and I was then onto last few miles . Good race for me ,new pb by 39 minutes , shall look to improve on that next spring
subliminal chants to everyone who has not entered and should!
MD - well done thats tops! funny things happen to your body over 26.2miles. I used ot be ok with gels now they make me ill, so back to the drawing board too.
We usually go in the Strawberry Gardens on Offerton Ln for our Stockport 10 meetings. On the run when you go out of the park you run left towards a double set of traffic lights. At the second set you turn left into the housing estate.
To get to the pub follow the same route but carry on through the lights, the Strawberry Gardens is about 1/2 mile down on your right. The Gardners Arms is at the lights but I've never been in there.
Not sure who is going but if you start a list we can get one or two to join in I'd think.
Eric Seagull--Sorry! Only just seen your message. I am only on week 2 of my BM training but things are coming along nicely thank you! Why don't you come along to the track on Thursday and try to keep up with me? 6x1200m.
Muzzy - lol, only 15.5miles, where is it? was contemplating the irregulars one near Holmfirth but cat get flight back in time. have a few pencilled int he diary for next year though Yes I will be attempting to run Stockport, my legs havent quite forgiven me for dublin yet so we shall see
MD - this dual has been going on for a couple of years now. I think its 3-2 to Eric at the moment. GBM has been letting himself go a bit and moaning about injury. I dont thinks he's got the fight in him anymore....................
Kwaka--LETTING MYSELF GO!!!!! I have had one or two minor injuries which have set me back over the last year but by Judgement Day i will be in the shape of my life and i'm going to show everybody! SHOW EVERYBODY!!!! 2008 is the chinese year of the gingerbreadman!
GBM - just read your message, unfortunately I've just got in from Birmingham. I will be doing a quick 6 mile run to the club in about 10 minutes so see you at the 8.15pm meeting!

Clairster
I'm doing another of those silly cross country type runs on Saturday. Luckily it's not as far as the Belper one, or as hilly.
It's only 15.5 miles so hopefully I shall come through that ok to run Stockport.
Sorry, pressed submit by mistake.
How's you anyway ?
I take it that you are running Stockport ??? If so I will hopefully see you on the day.
The Gauntlet has been thrown down
So Eric Seagull do you accept the challenge ?
We need seconds , referee and adjudicator , oh and timing devices , video evidence and small crowd .
clair - you jetsetter you......
