I am having serious hassle trying to find some Team GB replica running kit to buy, its gone like hot cakes. Anyone else having trouble? I'd have thought they would have made enough of these or perhaps did not realise the popularity of it.
If we wern't doing so well I doult they would have sold as much at the end of the day so demand is far outstriping supply. Been thinking about one of the football kits for a few weeks and through I'd wait until the games where over so could get it cheap I don't think thats going to happen.
Annoying the vest are going on ebay for ridiculous prices, sometimes in the hundreds, I spose I could get one from there once the excitment is over. P.
I can't see anything wrong with replica kit, it's just showing a bit of support. I've tended to shy away from it myself but each to their own. Maybe it's more common in cycling than running; I always liked the look of the King of the Mountains polka dot jersey from the Tour de France, but you'd look a bit of a twerp wearing it whilst being overtaken uphill by some old bloke on a Claud Butler touring bike.

Its just showing support, who cares what other people think? I dont think anything of seeing some gut lord marching (who should cut down on his pork rinds mate and get some exercise) wearing an Arsenal FC top. He's hardly going to be able to play a game of football like Van Persie is he?
Exactly same as buying a club shirt? Although I have to admit a little shock on seeing the e-bay prices when you look at what they are being sold as on the teamGB website before they sold out.
I wanted a Team GB swimsuit and managed to find one at Wiggle. Wasn't 100% certain I wanted it as the swimmers didn't actually wear one like it, but decided after Chris Hoy's win yesterday that I would buy one to represent the whole of Team GB. Alas Wiggle have now sold out of the swimsuit (rrp ??40, Wiggle price ??30) yet they are going on eBay for ??55.
A little gutted that I missed my opportunity, but hey ho
I didn't really think much of it on the TeamGB competitors - too downbeat if you get my drift - but a clubmate was wearing a replica one yesterday and on her, as a regular running vest, it looked quite nice. Context is all, perhaps! Still would prefer a regular union flag vest for running overseas .
I definitely want some Team GB running gear (proper running shirt/shorts, not just an ordinary one with the logo on). I got a pair of Team GB wristbands off Ebay yesterday for £7.99 all in, so at least I've got one souvenir.
Wait until the end of the games - the prices will plummet.

If you mean football club shirt, then I rest my case.
I wear a bright yellow cycling top when I'm on the bike - doesnt mean I fancy myself as winner of the TdF - its just easier for car drivers to see and avoid me!!!
If you want GB kit then fair play to you - some of it looks quite smart IMHO!!
Anyone know of stores we can go in and actually look at the kit before buying? It's very hard to know from online pics, plus of course the fact that I have been to the Olympic park and they didnt even have the running vest OR shorts, even in their mega store?????!!...
I was over Victoria park this evening to watch the 'lympics on the big screens they have there. They had some official t-shirts ( not the replica kit) on sale and even the small mens shirts were way too big for me.
It is true that not a head is turned if you see a cyclist wearing replica clothing or a foot ball fan wearing his teams colours. Just goes to show that some opinions are formed from straw and air, and are sometimes really not worth having.

Some of us do turn our heads at replica cycling kit, and most especially football shirts!
Going back to early 80s. I remember thinking that the 'Sub 4' running kit brand was an exclusive vest (and kit) that could only be worn by athletes who'd run under 4 mins for the mile !

Why would anyone want to pay over £100 for a vest, beggers beleif realy
I suppose if you've paid £5,000 for a second-hand torch, £100 for a nice vest to go next to it in the cabinet is a bargain.
I don't get buying replica kit.
Do people hope that others will think they were in the team?
Don't people seeing (slow) runners in team kit think "who does s/he think their kidding?"
Its just a bit of fun.

I have no issue if people want to wear it. I admit that the kit has grown on me throughout the olympics - when i first saw it i didnt like it.
Saying that - i'm currently on the hunt for a new running top and this was a front runner until i saw the cost on ebay/discontinued stock on wiggle.
That's my thinking exactly!

What where you doing down there surely the tropical london heat would have caused you to faint?

I love the look of the short running shorts, but I can't see anywhere that mentions a pocket so its an expensive gamble for me otherwise!

Yes they will. Yup a decent mens running vest would look good

Does the replica kit actually fit?

Swimsuits or running vests?

Running Vests...... They had the mens "speedos", But was';t looking in the womens section (for some reason)
Bought myself a T shirt, But TBH I hate people who wear replica kit like that anyway...
Much happier with my "Look Mum No Hands" cycling top
Crickey Dave, hates a bit of a strong word!

I'll keep my eye out for a running vest I think
