Same here Stanners, I am going to start training using Fink a week or 2 earlier tho, might be going on a diving hol in the middle of the training plan.
Calm down everyone. Plenty of time to panic in May! Base training should be solid but fun. Small gear on the bike to get used to a decent cadence and lots of low heart rate stuff on the run. Swimming is over rated.

swimming is not over rated, its essential - i can swim for 1 or 2 hours and make out to myself that i have put in a hard session and that i deserve that 12" pizza when in reality i have splashed about a bit without drowning and that if i had spent that time running or biking i would be knackered

I am going on holiday today so will be building my run base up while I'm away and getting some swimming done, even if it is overrated. Running will be all Z2 plus it's going to be feckin hot...;-). So if you don't hear from me for 10 days it's cos I've not got Internet. See you all soon.

I am really gutted that I am not doing this now...I knew I should've listened to the constant tweets/FB updates/forum posts/emails about it filling up!
I should probably vounteer...I am pretty certain I owe either my soul or my first born child to the volunteers from 2012...and indeed most other events that I have done. I have a big support/applause/nutrition providing deficit to make up!
I am just popping in to fire a warning shot across the bows re Pirate Kit for Outlaw 2013
I am assuming the current order will be finished and despatched around Christmas/New Year. In order for another order to go in and be ready for Outlaw, it would have to be signed and paid for mid/end April.
From a selfish point of view, I am not keen to be sorting out another order so soon after the current one unless there is sufficient interest in two or three items ie each item meets minimum order level of 16 units.
So this is a warning to say that if you are thinking about buying kit for Outlaw 2013 and want to guarantee getting it, it may be worthwhile considering getting in on the current order or run the risk that there will be insufficient interest by mid/end April
damn and blast... sore throat! Must be coz I'm tapiring.
Shmunks - daft question perhaps, but can someone order something now from this years order...? Someone I know at work is just embarking on the IM journey. I promise I haven't been recruiting!
and @EricisBananaMan... the experts say 80+ but we are all different. If you are soft pedalling at a cadence of 60ish then you probably need to up your game a bit.... the pro cyclists are spinning at 90+. Experiment... but don't expect instant gratification.... changing your "normal" cadence isn't an overnight thing.
Another top tip... start getting used to tri bars if you are going to use them. Its good to do this when wearing winter woolies as protection... (only kidding). If you are inflexible then you've got loads of time to start stretching and core strength work so you can hold an aero position longer on the day.
Shmunks - don't panic, I've worked it out having read the kit thread. Yes, is the answer.. And mighty impressed with the admin going on behind the scenes.
Mighty impressive entry list there guys, slightly disappointed for the first time in 4 years not to be on the Outlaw list but delighted that it sold out so quickly that I didn't have time to change my mind and do it

Just mappped out Fink, start date is December 12th folks!
I've got one last sprint and a half marathon to fit in before then, and hopefully a bit of a rest

Wise words. Especially the last sentence!!
What cadence should we be looking for?
