have enquired about a few apartments. Somehow I think I've ended up agreeing to stay with DLR Had the lufthansa flights ready to purchase but chickened out. Where's my bullet to bite?
RS - Bite that bullet girl, the flights are only going to get more expensive... And you're going to be looking at 3hr30 when Berlin rollls around. I'm heading back early on the Monday but going out a few days early for once. Sadly I'm already looking forward to it!
Okay, I missed that running news item. What makes a marathon one of the BIG ones? Number of participants? or just that they manage to pay someone enough to get on the list?
I'm (obviously) in the same boat* Orbutt. When I looked yesterday it still had the tuesday morning return flight listed in my bookings but no listing for it if I tried to search scheduled flights.
If they've switched me to the evening one that's ok, means no early start, no transfer in Frankfurt and a bit more time in the city but also means lugging a huge rucksack round for about 7 hours!
I'm heeeerrreeeeee. Got a race space but not accommodation and flights...I'll get there.
Me too! @RS - i've got a 4 bed apartment and we have one spare spot if you're interested. Shades and VR will also be there (from another thread). It's the same place as Kaz1 but it's not close to the start so that might put you off.

The whole accomodation quest would have been much easier if you weren't insisting we need to find somewhere with a 'sex dungeon'.
On that note I'm guessing you haven't heard anything back about the places Max Moseley and Frank Bough recommended?
You'd be suprised how many sex dungeons there are in Berlin. It's known as the fetish capital of Germany... and no, I will not tell you how i know that
Quite a lot of you are recommending airbnb... However, how do you gaurentee you get the accomidation when you arrive? Is it as safe as booking a hotel?
Damien - you take the guarantee by paying up front. Most have cancellation policies, worth checking before you sign up. Local knowledge, places off the beaten path, cool local types wherever you are. It adds lots to the trip. I love it.

RS - airbnb.com and a bit of Lufthansa action needed it seems...!

yeah, that is a bit sad, but I'm heading the lanzarote next week so have that to look forward to too. Flights are booked.
Iain Moore, you were right, there were 5. Tokyo became the 6th yesterday.

Just checked my Lufthansa booking and the Friday flight has changed to go via Frankfurt.
The Monday flight is stil showing as 07:00 but if you click on the flight number, it now shows that an 18:30 departure (direct flight).
This suits me a bit better but I'm not sure whether to try to change my Friday flight to the late Thursday one.

The sheer thought of you two staying in the same accomodation fills me with terror. Berlin may never recover
