as soon as Sexton went off I knew England would win, while ROG is a good place-kicker he just isn't dynamic enough plus makes too many mistakes (think back to the Lions in 2009)
Strange how the ref in dublin could see a player clip the ball with his foot but from 3 yards couldn't see a fat Irishman try and break another players ankle in what was a cynical and cowardly act. The fat fecker should get banned for 10 weeks.
MNW - I'm not sure I'd call Cian Healy a "fat fecker" to his face! and in the scheme of modern props, I'm not sure he would be one of the fat ones anyway. but I agree, he should be cited and get a ban for that stamp as it was totally unneeded
neither the Wales or England games were adverts for flowing runing rugby but tension in the last 10mins of both matches was electric as both could have gone the other way with the results. defences from all 4 sides were amazing - no quarter and very few chances given.
don't know what happened to Italy - clealry not an away side at the mo...
Had the bounce of the ball been different, England would've scored the try from the chip and Wales may not have done, so it's probably not a good stick for England-bashing
...and at least England have the excuse of the weather!
I thought England played to a plan; not so sure that the Wales-France game was planned...but both games for the purists (and as I'm a purist, I'm quite happy! )
Other than the English kicker I have seen nothing that would tell me any of these teams were International quality, you can get an evenly balanced game with a tense ending watching lower league
both the Wales and England games were great spectacles for the purists, all about the scrum and the goal-kicking... England's ability to adapt in the conditions looks good for the future

They didn't play well but, in fairness, the scoreline flattered us. When Hogg scored his breakaway try italy were threatening. Had they scored instead of us, it may well have been different. Great to see us showing a bit of positivity and uncharacistic ruthlessness.
pretty inevitable really so I guess Healy won't see any more 6 Nations action. it may also have jeopardised his place on the Lions tour as he was pretty much certain of being selected as one of the loose heads along with Gethin Jenkins
England are probably the best team in this yrs 6N and the coach is doing the best job of any of the coaches...but it's about time some French unpredicability turned up. I predict it will be today ...

it did!
Nice of England to show us Welsh how to play champagne rugby!!!!
I think the weather might have had something to do with the type of game we saw in Dublin...

a well taken one at that! but, it was a chip over the top not some dazzling running move!
truth be told i really enjoyed both games - you couldnt say there wasnt tension - proper rugby
comments like piers are just lazy jingoistic sterotypes

im guessing you didnt notice the weather? or maybe you'd prefer them to play with gloves covered in a catch adhesive like they do in the NFL?

The weather doesn't prevent you playing good rugby
they spray that stuff on their hands instead.... not that it made much difference in Dublin with the number of spilled balls...
you're right - it doesn't. but it doesn't help an awful lot either....

Expect Italy to come back strongly.
true enough, and to be fair most of the dropped balls were due to players looking up at the oncomming defenders rather than watching the ball
however, if anyone thinks the weather doesnt effect the style of play, compare the average points scored per game last week to this week...

I thought he would have got more than that and at least been banned from the rest of the 6N.
it often seems that bans are more lenient when it's come via the citing commissioner rather than via the ref despite video evidence.
hey ho
BOING!
I predict wins for England and Wales today. I will be watching France from behind a cushion
Think Scotland might edge Ireland tomorrow.
Allez Les Bleus!
Think twickenham will give england the edge. The french willl have improved but England have been very professional.
wounded lion italy to edge wales and scotland to win by 5
going by last night's score i'd immediately promote the Glasgow Warriors XV!
I predict wins for Wales, France and Ireland.
