I would re-post the pic Sossige, but I wonder if it had offended the delicate nature of someone at RW Towers, and it could very well have been what caused the crash! I can PM it to you for a small fee
Well, my two post-Outlaw weeks had contained a whole hour of exercise (swimming), so it is time to get my arse in gear again. Away on holiday this week so have done two short runs, 20 mins each, with another planned for Friday. Home on Saturday and back to my version of normal. I'm also trying to stop eating as if I'm still fuelling IM training, and stop drinking as if I'm still celebrating finishing Outlaw!
My IM isn't until August 25th but quite frankly, I am ready to roll. I rode 100 on Saturday, did a short brick run, and ran 14 on Sunday. I also swam 3500 this morning so I'm about as ready as I'm going to be. I'm in the dog days of training as they say. Have to work this weekend so going to get in what I can get in long ride wise but still do a 15 mile run. Then the weekend of August 2/3/4 I'll be doing one last big weekend. Full distance swim on Friday, full on the course ride on Saturday, then a 16 mile run on Sunday. Then it's taper madness.
just caught up on the thread - good luck for IMUK all those that are doing it. Would have loved to have come up to support but we are going on holiday so I'll try to follow people on the tracker. looking forward to reading the race reports when you finish
Well, my Ironman is nearly here... Can't believe it's on Saturday!
I'm pretty sure I said my first wouldn't be until 2014 at the very earliest. I'm blaming Yank, Sossige and all others on here!
I was put on antibiotics for a chest infection yesterday, so hopefully it will all clear up in time. It may just be in my head (that'll do!), but I feel a lot better today.
Good luck Budgie for Saturday. Which one are you doing?
I feel a bit lost. Really enjoyed the Outlaw and want to go again. Thought maybe a branded one but Austria full and Frankfurt. Don't want too many hills. Anybody done Copenhagen. Or maybe outlaw again next year and Austria year after.
Sossige - your swimming's really come along since you started the thread. Well done.

Thanks. Learning to swim front crawl is still the thing i'm most proud about on the journey. Next challenge after ironman is to become not the slowest front crawler in Britain
Andy, me too! Year ago I could barely swim 4 lengths.
Mile in the pool this morning ... it was like the walking dead in there. One old guy actually just walked around the shallow end, side to side, seemingly at random.
Either there has been some very quick swim times at The anglian or they halved the distance.Nobody appears to have taken over an hour. Budgie did the swim in around 50 minutes.

So, I started this thread back on 18/04/2012 at 07:27 with the view to doing an ironman.
That is only 11 days away
Injuries are ok now but i'm only up to a 5 mile run that i did on Monday. That was a struggle as well in the heat.
Still, feeling fairly positive & looking forward to it
good luck Sossigedog and well done for starting a very inspiring thread. oh and are you still a fatman?
Lost 3 stone but still got a decent belly on me

Good luck Budge. Going to try my best to get up to Cromer on Saturday pm.
I'm there on Sunday to help with the kids race.

My plans precisely!!!
Challenge Almere looks very flat indeed - below sea level!
Great unless there is a wind when you have nothing to shelter you from it.

Snail, a certain Budgie was talking about the flat/fun event that is IM Kalmar in Sweden. I believe it opens for registration soon.
Good luck for tomorrow Budgie, and anyone else racing this weekend
Good luck this weekend mate.
Err confused here. It says 17th August 2013 on website. Isn't it 27th July tomorrow or am I being a bit thick Good luck anyway.
Budgie is doing The Anglian tomorrow. Good luck Budgie.
Right!
I was talking about 2014 for Kalmar.
yeah doh
what an idiot. Told you I was being thick
Good luck budgie and Sweden looks flat bit a swim in the Baltic sea

Was a 3.8k swim. Apparently the tide was helpful.
Lots of swim PB's at the first Norfolk Ironman.
Budgie is on the run.
Bike split 7:09
Looking good for a sub 13 hour finish
Go Budgie go! My students think I'm mad (teaching a course today) as I keep checking my iPad for updates.
darn it wish I'd done the swim only bit now! Well done Budgie keep going.
Same Ali. Sea was as flat as Whitlingham this morning as well by the looks of some of the pics.
Just picked my bike up from its service, was going to drive out and see Budgie but he'll probably be finished before i get there
