PS I did Manchester in April 4:08...doing Chester in 3 weeks with a slight hope to get sub-4.. don't think it's likely so can I join the sub-4 or die group too?
TD, I opened 3 different browsers at 8am and left them alone. 20 minutes after the start of registration Explorer redirected to registration process. I didn't use the refresh button. Maybe I was just lucky.
As one of the ones crawling out the woodwork I suspect it would be polite to say hello, and as you’ll see below, crawling is the optimal word!
I actually ran Paris last year with you all but none of you seemed to notice me, but maybe if I’d said something on the forum during the year rather than just reading it then you may have.
So my question is; does anyone have a better starting point for their training for Paris 2014 than the picture below??
OMG I appear to be entered. Aaarrgh!!!! So I have to train for a marathon (first one) and also a London to Paris cycle ride a few weeks afterwards.....
Emma - it's not my email that's the problem, it's that the race isn't showing in my ASO account either, so there is no record of me having a race place or number, they've just taken my money. Everybody else has the race showing under My Races in their ASO account.
I've emailed them but I'm not confident of a reply.
From memory that happened last year and some people ended up registering twice. You just wait for it and I remember mine took about 6 hours to show.
I got a reply to my email (sent to /forum/smilies/tongue_out_smiley.gifarismarathon@aso.fr)]parismarathon@aso.fr). I guess this is sufficient confirmation that my place has been registered, although still no second email through yet, only the payment confirmation one.
"Hi XXXX,
You regsitration come through and everything is ok.
Kind regards,
Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris - Service Concurrents Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris - Competitors Department"
Welcome to all newbies.......its madness but you will love it in here!
Yer maj - I seem to remember some people having the same problem last time - in fact I am still waiting for my confimation email for registering last year!!
Thank fully to Weedy and Emmy I am registered! Now I just have to wait and see what pen they put me in and the nickname they've given me?!?!? Seriously - Thank You!
Now I need a serious training plan??? Unlike last time round!
*Emerging from woodwork...* Thanks for the welcome! 2nd marathon for me - ran London this year and loved every single second. Have kept up training since and very excited at the prospect of another marathon, in a city I love. May do VLM 2014 after Paris, if I'm lucky in that ballot. Will look forward to all the undoubted pearls of wisdom that can be gleaned from this thread and will hopefully add something of use myself!
Well now I'm registered for the race I thought I'd say a proper hello... HELLO! Am a newbie to the RW forums and (almost) a newbie to marathons, Paris will be my third marathon but I've got Amsterdam coming up in a few weeks to conquer first... Excited and nervous at the thought! Hope there's room in here for me to pull up a chair?
When you're in... put your numbers and bib colours on here and I'll start to compile a list.... and will keep it going right up until the event when people start wanting to change to the faster pens because the training has gone better than expected...!

Well done, RunningRaRa. Now, if you activate the ' Message Me' facility on your Profile, I'll bury you in unsolicited advice about the portaloos etc..

Thanks for the warm welcome! Looking forward to picking brains, sharing frustrations, and venting on and off with you all over the next 6+months...
I'm venting off now and we're not even warming up yet
Wow - so many new faces. Why not pull up a chair and introduce yourselves
