Sounds brill. Im in too. It will be my 5th Marathon and second one in Liverpool. Looking forward to a full 26.2 miles around my fabulous city and not like the last one... half wirral (boring) and half Liverpool (Sefton Park boring)
The orgainsers are amazing. The US based company is expanding to Liverpool. Ive ran loads in USA they really know how to put on a race for your money. Non of this 'goody bag' consisting of leaflets!
Think im gonna have to do this one as I never did the last lots race as they have a habit off messing up. But this lot have a very good reputation. Might take it easy though and just enjoy the event
YD-the northern section looks pretty dull just to bring in the football stadia but then again chunks of the NY marathon were uninspiring eg the warehouse areas og Brooklyn
I think it should be a good enough course - bearing in mind Liverpool is a small city of course. It does give a good representation of the overall feel of the city. South Liverpool is really nice and I run regularly along the Otterspool prom when visiting the in-laws - in fact their house is not far from the route...
danrees- yes the southern bit is good ....it's pretty much the the regular HM route..good atmosphere And is pretty fast . Coincidence your name is the same as mine.
Yay, should be a good one!! I did Rock & Roll Dublin this year (half mara) and was great fun. Brilliant atmosphere and I expect there will be quite a few international (especially North American) entries as it is a US events company who organise it. It'll be my 4th marathon of 2014 so not looking to get a decent time, basically enjoy it and see it as a 26 mile dance-a-thon
Went to Liverpool back in 2008 but that was before my running days so will be good to run it.

Googled it, sounds great, have entered my email address on their website for a reminder for registration! Thanks for the thread!
looks good saying entries open 5 september, may have to take a trip up north
Entries open now on the website
All booked, discount to the first 500 entries! cant wait, never been to Liverpool before, what better way to explore it than to run it!
i'm in.
im in, never actually done a marathon yet ive booked 4 of them.
that one is my 4th of 2014. SO FAR
Starting and finishing at the waterfront?!?!
I thought that was the problem the council had with the previous organiser, that the council insisted it couldn't finish on the waterfront....?
Do we know what's special about this marathon? Why is it called Rock n Roll?
Gina- I had places in VLM and Chester this year but missed both due to injury so you may need some in reserve
They have live bands playing every mile and a concert afterwards. Thinking of doing this one as my 1st marathon.
Am I odd ?
I've signed up for the HM, then the Edinburgh HM 4 weeks later.
Done my first HM in Glasgow last week so When I was still on I high I signed up for both of these.

I'm in and looking forward to it. Will be interested to see where the route goes, I hope it's one loop and not two laps.

After my unsuccessful entry into London I'm seriously looking at this for my 2014 Marathon. The reviews of the USA based ones seem pretty good too.
Yes
Route unveiled

Eber-so if thats the Half ,is the Marathon twice that? Never done a lap type marathon and if it is , I cant see that beating the 2012 route
Use the drop down above the map to select the full course, goes out to the north first.
Eber-thanks-Think I prefer the 2012 route
Looks like a right dogs dinner of a course.
