Clive - I'm in VLM and Silverstone Half next year. Nothing else planned, but my marathon training starts in just over 4 weeks. Following P&D again, since it gave me great results this year. What about you?
hehe. Well gang I guess it's see you all on Monday, *sulk*
Unless 50 of you know, anyway have a great weekends running. I still cannot decide if i'm going to curl up in bed all snuggly and warm with the dog squishing me, or go for it at a Parkrun.
Tenjiso- Great for VLM- did you get in on ballot? I wondered about Silverstone, esp as a friend can get sponsored place with Lucozade
I haven't entered anything yet other than Thunder Run with a load of folks from BC last year and forum (Sarah, Malcs, Tigger, RRR, Angela etc). Will almost certainly do an autumn marathon, maybe Spring if I get through this time...
BT, Take the dog to Parkrun, bit of cani-cross? Hopefully on a shorter bungee than one I came across that weaved from side to side resulting in lots of comments, bad looks, and being spoken to by the marshalls.
I'm in.
That is I'm in Reading half March 2nd, Grindleford Gallop March 8th, Sheffield half April 6th........
Catch up with you Monday, best luck to you all.
If reality matched intention I'd know I was dreaming
Don't once oh walked course with dog, lead broke and my lab decided to see if she could keep up with the quicks. Had already run over 3km and had to kill myself catching her I was a little embarassed!!
Clive - it's good to see how you lot still get together for races.
I got in the VLM through the ballot for 2013, but deferred it because I had already made arrangements for the Brighton Marathon (which shows how likely I thought it was I'd get in through the ballot after three previous rejections). So I'll be lining up alongside Mo Farah in 2014. By "alongside" I mean somewhere within a two mile radius.
I enjoyed Silverstone last year, but it seems to be a bit of a marmite race going by the ratings. It gave me goosebumps at the start when they played the F1 Theme (Fleetwood Mac)
Best of luck to every one on here who is dreaming of Asics 26.2
Last year there were no pictures of them deliberting. They certainly know how to tease us.
I entered but do not expect to get selected. So many more entries this year than last year. Must decide on my spring marathon.
Parkrun in the cold this morning. Never quite know if I enjoy them. Mine is a very hilly course and lap 2 is a killer. So by the time you get to the end you are wrecked.
Good luck seren nos. I'm cross country running tomorrow too. Done loads of fell and trail running, but haven't done any "proper" XC for 20 years. Am excited about it. Love mud!
If you miss the call do they leave a message / ring back till you answer as Iam not allowed phones in work or do they move onto someone else as you had your chance?
Iam entered into the montane grizedale trail 26 and the Lakeland 50 for next year so my 14 week count down starts today for the 26 miler, so I better get a plan printed off and get some running done instead of the normal just do what I want and it will be alright on the night approach
I cycles to my XC too. Good way to warm up. Was less keen on the cycle home! I really enjoyed myself (although I was hoping for a bit more of a mud fest!), I'm quite slow at short distances as I've got myself into a long distance plod mode. But hopefully with a winter of XC I'll come out a bit quicker.
Well done on all the workouts and races done today everyone.....now an afternoon sleep may be in order.....
Everyone ready for a stress free Monday, all relaxed, and not worrying at all and taking the odd look at twitter / this forum through the day, oh no.....
Would love to be apart of this, what am i capable off...???
1 mile = 5:45, 10K 45.08, 1/2 marathon 1:50 but have never done long runs, what time prediction am i capable off if i have a good training plan and i can run fast Good luck peeps!
Comments
I had a run this morning- only 40 minutes with 2.5miles of it at marathon pace.
Just up from air after a severe bout of RUNger....

RUNger = extreme hunger brought on by running

Park Run done. 1st in 5 months within around 20 seconds of a pb... blew away a few of the weeks cobwebs.
Best of luck to every one on here who is dreaming of Asics 26.2

loved park run this morning and got a shiny new course PB......loving my running at the moment.....cross country tomorrow for even more mud

good question. I'be been thinking and assume you get a message and email follow up , and if less then 50 turn up it makes the next stage a bit easier
I think the Lakeland 50 is one of my favourite races.......
cross country was fun today.cycled to the start to warm up and help my legs unfold from yesterday......
I am enjoying running so much at the moment and cross countrys are brilliant.,specially when they have streams and mud and hills
Got carried away last night...
signed up for The Ridgeway Challenge.

Indeed whoever if anyone gets through from here should have a decent support team for advice n help
After a weekend of relaxing, chilling out, forgetting about anything else, I can feel the heart rate quicken, the adrenalin build.
My best wishes to 49 of you
Hah, the other 48 you mean

Try using this site to give you some sort of ballpark idea.

1:50 half usually seems to point to a marathon just under 4 hours
