Don't think I have any chance of winning the race - first of the last 25% would be good. I'm after a different first. I'll watch out for pink fairies and mankinis on the day. If you are in a mankini respect !!! (if its sub zero out there don't forget the thermals)
I have a place going if someone wants to buy mine, working locations changed which would mean it's not that easy for me to get there. E-mail me at norfolkadam@hotmail.com to sort out, cheers Adam.
Thanks HappyChap - yes, at the top of Juniper Hill (what a long hill it is!) we trend right (we used to trend left) and go through a kissing gate (we used to go over a stile). From there the route goes along tracks to the Smith and Wesson crossing. It will all be signed and marshaled.
Some photos circulating on Twitter this morning of the bottom of Box Hill well and truly underwater (due to the River Mole bursting its banks). People were being rescued from the Burford Bridge Hotel by boat!
Late in the day maybe, but I have a place going to anyone who wants it. Had flu last week and decided today that I won't be sufficiently recovered by Wednesday to tackle those hills.
Email to shaun(at)subs(dot)shaunball(dot)me(dot)UK if you'd like the place. First reply gets it, and all I ask for is 1/2 the entry fee (??15).
Thanks Dr Rob, I did a hilly XC 11km yesterday. I felt a little tired afterwards and a little apprehensive about wednesday when I saw I only did 253 metres of incline and decline.
I suspect that's why your races are rated among the toughest (and best) in the UK.
Hi all! Marshalled at the race this year and absolutely loved it and but thought I'd like to give the run a crack next year, but with my bad memory etc (hangover) at the time. I forgot about it and sods law will only think about it now; I know it is ridiculous to ask this late, but anyone got a spare ticket or just don't fancy all the mud, sweat and tears?! If anything, please drop me a mail - zonalia@yahoo.co.uk
The course will be muddy and slippy but might not be as bad as all the news coverage might make you think... (no chance of crossing the stepping stones, but footbridge will be okay - then reverse your course).
There's a tree down just below the Box Hill Fort, which will require everyone to duck underneath - mind your head.
Alas, I am currently without a sweep - there's a free place in the race for someone who is willing to bring up the rear, clearing away tape and signs as they go (in fact, more than one place is potentially available). If you want to take up the offer, email me at rob at trionium . com.
Any other marshals always gratefully received! Come prepared for cold, wet and windy weather...
Missed this for the first time in 5 years last year due to injury never entered this year as ive been hit with injuries again but im feeling good and REALLY want to do this whilst im injury free.... So if anyone has a place please let me know runmark26.2@hotmail.co.uk thanks

Piper booked - he'll be in a kind of Scottish fancy dress outfit...
I think NickGZ might be talking about a first for fancy dress...

I would love a place please if anyone else has to stand down
Good news on the piper!
I thought that I might have to try to keep up with the YMCA lads and hum along with them for 10k.
Bring on the soup!
I have a place going (due to injury) ...
I have a place going … email me at mjnichols@hotmail.co.uk to arrange! M
Oh my goodness that is muddy. Trail shoes strongly recommended.
Just back from a run through of the route.
erm, yep. Trail shoes if you have them. The bridge was underwater so it's probably unlikely we'll be using the stepping stones.
Rob the NT have been out fencing like crazy, they forgot to put one of the stiles back in necessitating a slight re-route. Presume you are aware?
Oh, and the steps climb is definitely getting longer
Ran the Portsmouth Marathon today - included 17 steps, a slope and some mud so good practice for 1/1/14.

And if the weather stays like this we will definitely get our feet wet in the shoe bath just before the S&W.
i can't wait for this race whoop
Race instructions just being emailed out (and also on the web site). Happy Christmas everyone!

Looks like we're set to have a good mud run/swim on the first, so onesies are probably not a good idea. Lol. I can't wait.
Hi all, disappointed to say that I have a place on offer - we're no longer journeying Southward as had originally planned for this week.
Send me an email (judah at doctors.org.uk) if you would like it!
The race is still on, of course, but come prepared for wet and windy weather!

Rob, I've put an appeal on the club Facebook site to see if we can find you a sweep.
If anyone has a place going let me know. janecoles@mac.com
