Unless my foot feels 100% I'm not going to risk running so it'll continue to be based around the bike. This year has been a write off due to injury then illness so next for me will be a couple of late season bike races probably veterans ones, I've booked a sportive in Northern France in Sept too.
Next year the fallback will be the Marmotte again and use the fitness training for that to try and do something in road races but would be on for something more challenging - a multi day mountain bike event in the Alps or Pyrenees is tempting and totally different to anything I've ever done but probably wont happen.
I started a thread a while back about my plans for 2015, and still not actually booked anything yet!
The rough idea is:
Reading Half Marathon in March
Looking for something to keep interest in April
TrainerRoad's 8 Days of California mid May (not strictly speaking a race, but its too tiring to think about an event at the same time)
IM 70.3 Staffordshire (if there are any places left when general reg opens) mid June
Long Course Weekend Mid July
IM Wales End Aug / Begining of Sept.
Once that's done we'll see about 2016, but I do like the sounds of Lanza if its the 25th anniversary. Although I should probably get Wales done first as I may swear never to do another.
Sprint tri in a couple of weeks time and maybe another in September.
Then work on getting my running back on form and trying to build leg strength to improve bike performance with long term goal of doing better at IM Austria next year.
I have club relays, vitruvian, challenge Almere, equinox and challenge Majorca half still this year! Next year I have a couple of ideas but definitely pirate feed station at Outlaw
august - grim reaper 70 miler // peaks skyrun // T184
september - snowdon 50 or equinox 24 hour - havent decided yet
oct - stort 30
notice theres nothing involving water
next year i have nothing certain but theres the quin iron at enduroman or the 200 miler, lakeland 100, thames ring 250, and a few sprint tris and others that dont involve getting wet
My not knowing what to do didn't last long - just signed up for the sandman, and will also do the snowman for a full set - off the couch to get my 5hit together then!
Hever castle to close out the season for me. Not decided whether I'll do the bastion or just the oly, then probably the Portsmouth costal marathon to keep things ticking over as I have IM Melbourne in March.....
I've entered in Portsmouth Coastal Marathon. Fingers crossed for no ice or snow! Used to live in Melbourne. Could be hot but quite a flat Ironman I think
See you at Portsmouth then. I did it last year, so am hoping for a slightly quicker time this year.
Melbourne is in their autumn, so fingers crossed for weather similar to Outlaw. Might be the only representative of PSOF, so hopefully there will be a kit order by then. The bike is on a closed motorway, so tempted to get a tribike rather than my current road one with tribars....
i did an event on the freeway over there- lots of debris on the road! In March the weather could still be very hot and windy if you are unlucky. Fingers crossed! Not many hills though. Sure people could lend you kit if no order by then. How you getting your bike over??
No idea. I am guessing they won't let me take it as hand luggage.
I have looked at bike box rental, but we are going to be out there for 4 weeks because we are visiting family too, so it is probably going to cost me the best part of 600 quid in rental alone.
I guess I could just buy a new bike in Oz and ship it back freight. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

I fancy the sandman, not sure about snowman though (that run)
Sort my gammy leg out, if I can I might do Robin Hood and possibly wild boar, would like an im next year poss bolton. Depends how crap my leg is maybe ill just sleep for a year and rest it j
WOW!! that is a big one!! I was more worried about the sea swim and the bike on the sandman, but that is going to be a crawl up and stagger down, will need a rest after that one...
Midnight man half iron on 16th aug for me. Will be my first half distance and only second tri so a little nervous. Then thinking Cambridge olympic tri 28th sept and possibly snowman tri 5th Oct. Might be a bit ambitious though.

Is Lanza a contender for the '16 Champs then?

Come to Equinox DK. You can drag me past the 70 mile mark.
equinox is closer so i may do that
Be good to see you there DK.
are you soloing it mate
No mate, just a team thing - I'll try and repay that misplaced confidence in my abilities one day though.

IM Wales for me and then will do Dublin Marathon (sub 4hr goal target yet again) after this I will work on shifting some weight over winter months.
I'm booked for IMUK again 3rd and final year so Lanza 2016 sounds very interesting.
Fancy doing some more trail runs and mixing it up a bit in 2016 but no firm plans on that yet.
What a great way to celebrate!
