Meanwhile, I am waiting for the IT service desk in London to sort out whatever is causing me to be unable to connect to my work email and files. Having them email me and ask if I am sure I have entered the correct username and password and to confirm that the internet is working correctly is not helpful. Terse email reply sent....
I'm working in Bangladesh for a couple of weeks, Bookie. It's hot but it's not really the kind of place where you can take advantage of it! A white woman, on her own, is an object of much curiosity and interest (nothing threatening) and there isn't the same amount of freedom that I have in the UK. Sleeveless tops are a no-no, legs and upper arms need to be covered up, modest necklines etc, and it is still pretty humid (although at least not the 98% levels I experienced in September!).
And the heat makes smelly things smell more....you hear what I'm saying?
Hot choccie to take to bed. One made with water and powder, I can't be doing wth syrup and cream and marshmallows. Thank you. Oh and a chocolate chip cookie or two. I'm in an eat eat eat mood.
I've drunk just about everything in sight today. Luckily there was no alcohol within reach so I have stuck to water, juice, tea and coffee. I estimate about 4 litres in total and I'm still thirsty
been sipping the dregs of the coffee pot left on this table for the last few hours as no-ones around, is the kettle on yet? or as its late maybe I need a nightcap
ok, espresso to get me through the last 2 hours of my day please, followed up with a mahoosive G and T, it is the weekend after all...for me Cheers!! and one for yourself
Thanks very much, Blue Peter. I'm currently working in a country where alcohol is prohibited by and large, so a glass of virtual Veuve will be very welcome as well as legal
Nearing the end of my working day here. Ironically, for a country in an area renowned for tea, the tea here is awful. The fact that the milk is either full-fat powdered or UHT full fat (or possibly even evaporated) does not help....thank goodness I brought a supply of Tetley and semi-skimmed milk cartons with me so when I get back to the hotel I can have a decent cuppa
In the meantime, I shall make myself a virtual cup in here.
It's foul, HeatherS. I poured two mugs down the sink today, rather than drink them. I could feel the bile rising as I lifted the mug to my mouth . The staff are so kind and bring me tea on a tray and deposit it on my desk with a little bow and a smile. I don't like to refuse a cup in case they get offended!

Sweetest thing, hope the IT guys managed to sort your problem. The reply we always got from the IT department was... "Google the problem"...
The sun is over the yard-arm somewhere in the world, so wine you shall have, Jindalee. Red, white, rose or the bubbly variety?
No reply yet from IT. Ironically, if our IT service desk had been oursourced to India, I could almost ask them to come and sort it out personally
Lol, IT departments... hope they get it sorted for you soon.
*pours glass of perfectly chilled rose*
Enjoy! I've given you a little dish or nuts as well, just to heighten the virtual pub experience.
IT have sorted me out - my account was locked so they've unlocked it. I am back in touch with the Mother Ship
I've had an extra clinic sprung on me, so have been tea-less all morning! Twinings everyday, milk, large mug please *flump*
Whereabouts are you Sweetest Thing? I'm envious of the weather! *brrrr*
Tea coming right up! *puts kettle on*

Very delicious wine! Weather forecast for tomorrow is 26 degrees ( Celsius) over here and 28 for Saturday . Wohoo
oh I was just passing and noticed you were open - its it too early for a G&T?
And would a B52 be just a little too extravagant for this time of day?
Where are you, Jindalee? I'm thinking Australia or NZ?
Never too early for a G&T in the Runner's Arms, Jenni-far-far
Mr Puffy, I like your thinking - combine coffee with alcohol and give it a fast name.
I just fell asleep in the chair and so need something to keep me awake for the next 7 hours please....
Getting late here now so have to leave you for today. Night nite, and thanks for a lovely evening
KKNN, Jindalee - I am hoping to visit Australia in January with Mr ST (if we ever get around to booking it!).
Seren, industrial strength coffee and IV drip being set up for you right now.
I don't do tea and coffee. a double dietcoke will have to do...

Evening/Morning...does this place cater for night shift workers? Can I get something to get me through the next 5 hours please...

Thank you ....puts empty cup and saucer on bar and leaves money, day off today and going for a run now, may be back for a cocktail or two later
