Morning all - wow it's cold, well done to marathoners, good luck to Gobi, work stacked out so I too will be an infrequent visitor, still SOCing though never you fear, but BRRRRR.
This is probably one of the least likely threads to find me on!
The thought of heading out of the door to run at 0637 is obscene. I had to start the 10Peaks Brecon Beacons at 0400 in 2013. Don't know how I did it - alarm was set for 0230. I stuck my head out of the door of the tent hoping to see a glimmer of light but of course there wasn't and wouldn't be for several hours. Thankfully this year they moved the start to 0500 so I could have an extra hour in bed.
6 done here.... mild and decidely calm after last night when i thought the house would blow away!
I have a schedule - lets see how it goes. About 16 weeks of training over an 18 week period before Brighton Mara. Lets see how the old pins hold out this year.
4.10am run this morning. Steady three miles (10 - 10:20 min/mi pace) but threw in five hill sprints halfway around. This is the first time I've done hill sprints since tearing my calf in July. No problem at all from the calf now - the dodgy TFL was quiet as well. Only grumble came from the left achilles but I tend to expect that. The right achilles, which was always the troublesome one, has been absolutely fine. I guess they're taking turns now.
Last day of school today (well, half-day - it's a carol service) so I have a few weeks to run at more sociable times. I'm staying in Manchester this Christmas - debating whether to take my running stuff as my friend is not the active type and I'm not sure of the area but we'll see. It might just be a good opportunity to relax and let my old body heal up a bit.
Morning all - 6 miles PW 1 and a fire engine, spin and a short swim. Tried a threshold run but legs wouldn't take me fast enough to push the lungs, have to try again tomorrow. Good luck with the interviews Gobi, would be nice to get something sorted before Christmas I'm sure. Birky, overnighter on a coach for your son, doesn't sound like much fun. Cal, take the gear anyway, you'll only regret it if you don't.
That's what I'd say too. Or he's just had laser eye surgery (mind you I had that in 2006 and was told not to exercise for two weeks! Rather annoyingly, I'm now getting short-sighted again. Meh).
Morning - aren't we lazy TRex? Run in downpour and gales, complete change of soaking clothing before getting on the turbo. If Gobi cycles on this at SOC he gets double points. Can you tell us the SPOTY result birky?
I have been a bit absent too, just really busy at work. Had a lovely slow run in the rain this morning, although I hate the thought of going out in the rain,, weirdly I do quite enjoy it!
thank goodness it is the weekend, I am a bit tired!
Crazy week coming up though, so better make the most of the weekend

Morning again
Just been out walking the dog in a snow shower. A guy out for a run, runs past us wearing sunglasses ! In a snow shower ? ! Eh ???
Kate: Younger son is sleeping away.
Birky, perhaps that guy was worried about the glare from the snow damaging his eyes!
That's what I'd say too. Or he's just had laser eye surgery (mind you I had that in 2006 and was told not to exercise for two weeks! Rather annoyingly, I'm now getting short-sighted again. Meh).

Morning, everybody!
How come you're not up yet?
