I am aiming to run the London Marathon next year and am looking for a training partner in the Woking area. It will be my first one, and aiming for 4:30-5hrs time. Please post a reply if you are interested...
Based further West (Basingstoke/Fleet) where there are a crowd of runners on this Forum.I should be running FLM 03. Might be a bit far for regular runs, but if there are any warm up races it would be good to meet up.
I'm based on Southern Hampshire - not much use I know, but may be we should all get together nearer the time for a long, long training run(s) to give us all a change of scenery?
Joanne Am also in the same situation eagerly put my FLM entry in yesterday! I agree with Whizzy - all us first timers should get together early in 2003 and plan some long, training runs. Am based in Surrey so not much good for regular runs - but judging by your proposed finish time, we probably run at the same pace. Fil
I live in sunny Woking if that helps at all - Mayford / Westfield area to be precise.
When (that being the word at the mo) I do run I head for the Wey navigation, Sutton Green areas - how about you ?
Currently trying to get back into the whole running thing after a series of injuries, life crisis and loss of motivation....and am struggling so any new face may spur me on ! I would be interested in meeting up for a jog / run sometime as long as you promise that you'll be gentle on the gas as my stamina is not what it used to be !
I am a member of Chris Lane health club and start and end most of my runs there along with a good group of fellow cases (all abilities, ages, male and female). If you fancy joining the mob they meet at 09:00/09:15 on Sat mornings at leave for 09:30ish...depending on stragglers and motivation ! Ask for more details should you require.
Look forward to hearing from a fellow 'Woking Massive' !
Hoping to do flm 03 and would love a training partner in the farnham/haslemere area. Shift worker so evenings are out. First marathon so time around 4hrs is my aim.
I have just applied for FLM, after a couple of years of doing 10k's. Would love to find a partner for long runs in the Hackney/Clapton/Victoria Park area on Sunday mornings. I am now up to doing 13 miles in about 2 hours, on some really beautiful paths along the canal, Hackney Marshes or Victoria Park, and would like to add to that gradually/sensibly over the winter months. But the New Yorker in me finds it very difficult to do these sessions week after week without any conversation.
I am planning to run the 2003 London Marathon and looking for a training partner specially for lung runs, but not only. I am based in Bricket Wood, Herts and work in central London (200 yrds from Hyde Park); if you are interested, please e-mail me and we could take it from there.
I hate to put a damper on this, and tell me to shut up if I'm out of order here, but you do know that applying for the FLM doesn't mean you're automatically in?
I live in the Aldershot/Farnham area and am in need of a training partner. I have also applied for FLM 03 so if you email me or phone 07974 348711 to see if we are close enough to meet up - it would be great!
Joanna - although I'm now based in Aldershot - I was based in Woking up until a couple of months ago and tend to drive into Woking rather than remain in Aldershot. If you want to meet me or discuss running (eves preferably) email me back. Applied for FLM and did 2 halfs this year if not I can introduce you to a couple of others who will run regularly.
I live in Guildford ( worplesdon) and if you are interested in meeting up for a run then give us an email - on adrian.hill@orange.net, I completed the FLM last year 3.39, my 1st one, had some time of recently due to injury so now need to work the trainers again, I have a few good routes for vairious distance
Willing to meet someone half-way for coffee...anything so I don't have to keep running 2 hours all by myself every weekend (cue violins; Tito, get me a tissue)...
Robert - I'm in Camden. Normally try to do 10 - 13 miles most Sundays, but have been racing a lot recently though. Could be up for a long run at the weekend soon though - I'm getting rather fed up of Regents Park and have always meant to try out Victoria Park.
I am training for triathlon at the moment. I am looking to see if there are any running clubs or group runners as I find the whole lady going on her own thing very spooky at the moment with everything that has been going on just lately. I have run flm in 2000 since then still run but no more than 5-6 miles. I am aiming to fasten my speed.
