I expect I'll be there. Yesterday I decided twice was enough as I want to do Vichy next year. 24 hours later and I'm going to see how I go at Cotswold Classic Middle Distance on 23 Aug and if two Iron distance in 5 weeks seems feasible I expect I'll have another go. And if I don't have another go it'll be a relay place or the feed station
Pre registered and looking to take part in full solo or swim & bike as team of 2. Want to experience the pirate feed station from a bike and finish area support.
Mmmmm ive pre registered for the Half & Full Outlaw. Like Duda & Red Stripe, I would also like to see the feed station from the other side. My Lad would love to do the feedstation again along with my other son.
This would be my first "Iron Distance" race after Staffs 70.3 this year. I have previosly thought about the Outlaw but wanted my first to be overseas.
The thing with the Outlaw is that i live in Derby and my family can help out on the feedstation, this is not the case for any other branded iron race. So it would be crazy for me not to do it.
Although supportive, my Wife has said that im on my own for a 10 month ish training schedule. As much as id love to do more Ironman races my first will more than likely be my only one.
So do i carry on with the plan of an overseas or just do the Outlaw anyway???
SA - you are bonkers!! but 2 medals from the same race would be funny!
Pip - if it were me then I would chose the most convenient, but that is me, I personally am not bothered about the branding of IM, for me, I like the least hassle in terms of logistics, so would go with outlaw. But you need to decide what is important to you, and what is acceptable for your family. Going abroad is expensive - would your OH support you in that? Would doing outlaw mean they could come and watch part of it but not feel they have to be there for all of it - eg they could come and support on the run and see you finish (unless the kids are too young to stay up that late) without having to be there all day. But an overseas one could be combined with a family holiday?
you would have to be really careful about who was what in each team, so the team you bike for would need to have a slower swimmer than you, you would need to cycle and swim faster than the third team it would provide massive amusement for us all
Honestly if there is some truly screwed up relay team that required pacing so that you could do all three legs with different teams then I am up for it. Failing that solo for 2016 it is.
not sure if I'll do the full, I've done the last 2 now and might either have a break next year or do a different one, we'll be there in some form, either relay or feed station
I like the idea that was mooted in Nice last year - lucky dip relay teams. sign up as a team but have no idea what leg you are doing until you pull your name out of the bag at registration.
I have seen sense (for once) and have a pirate (almost) to do the swim and Mrs SA to do the run so I'm on the bike, which will give me a reason to a least do a bit of training after Lanza

can you flip later ? I mean enter with the intent of the full and then ( rather than cower away like I did this year ) switch to a relay option if things don't go to plan ?

or should I look for a pair?
Just finish a triathlon first and stop wasting money?

I would like to be in a relay again, but running not swimming this time, so if anyone wants a slowish runner (well, I might get quicker in a year)....

would be happy to be part of a relay as swimmer or bike
or be a swimmer for one team and a runner for another, that could be fun

If you are going to do it SA you have to go for the grand slam...
if if you were part of 3 relay teams, would you qualify for 4 medals ?

It must be possible to arrange, and you could set some amazing transition times
A race within a race - sounds brilliant!
And SA is just the lunatic... Sorry I mean man for the job
Team Assassin has just registered for 2016
... sorry, pre-registered

Pre registered for the full - need a target for next year considering this one is slightly messed up with my shoulder .....
Hoping to be there as a volunteer/supporter

oh god, I am not doing lucky dip!
That's a great idea! Relay Russian Roulette...
I'd be up for that too
