Early May (was the 9th this year) - though sadly not easter hols/half term Podds. Might be better going out for some training rides during Easter hols instead
Nurse Ratched, be good to see you and your better half again after your much needed support in the inaugural Cotswold 226. I took the next week off work with a swollen knee ,and one year on have realised that that was my last solo full distance. As part of my recovery from surgery on said knee am keen to get back into full pirate kit for the relay and support functions.
Nurse Ratched , sorry for the mix up, glad to see you were supporting in spirit! Maybe we can support each other next year in the Relay, or race in the swim!
Much as I loved doing the full Outlaw over the past 2 years there are plenty of other iron distance races to have a go at - so I seem to have just entered the Outlaw Half.
It cost less than I was expecting too which was a bonus!
FWIW, a couple of people on FB haved posted that perseverance has paid off for them and they've managed to book in the last few minutes (Despite the sold out message).
Can't believe how quickly the VIP places sold out! Still a few people getting in via VIP links and refreshing the entry screen though so don't give up until you've tried that. Sorry to everyone who missed out. There are another few hundred places available 9am tomorrow and Cancer Research UK have some as well.
I wonder if the pre-registration VIP entry list system has had its day for this race now. No end of people didn't receive their email (myself included, although fortunately I decided I didn't want to enter) and the system seems to have crashed at 9am this morning. It sold out, it doesn't need the hype of pre-registering any more.
I'd take out the pre-reg bit, yes. They don't need it and all it leads to are complaints from those who didn't get their mails. I reckon it would get the same sell out time without it.
I guess I was lucky, and I sit in front of a screen at work so being online at 9am was no problem, but I've never had an easier time entering a race. A late change of plans on Tuesday led to me entering although I wasn't too fussed if I got in. Had the email from OSB, got half way through the sign-up and then accidentally shut the wrong window on the computer (doing 2 things at once doesn't seem to work!) No problem at all to start again and then I got things done correctly and it all went through fine. If I was them I'd change nothing but I'm inclined to agree that the pre-reg email isn't needed.
I think the pre reg email causes more problems than it solves now. It seems to lead to people complaining via both the offical and unoffical Outlaw Facebook pages. I didn't look at Twitter yesterday, possibly there too.

Half registration done!
All done, Jesus wept that was a lot of money, need to go and change my bank account a couple of times for the free money to cover it
I knew the price of the event as they had said that in one of the emails, but the £5.75 booking fee was a bit of a rip off!!

Agreed, I was going to have one of the training t shirts as a bit of a birthday treat but that extra fiver did me in.
The spots must have gone rather quickly, as a colleague tried to regsiter at 0905 and got a message saying it was closed!

Cheers Dawn Shadow, will let colleague know!
Good luck to your colleague Ironshas
