Anyone going that is not flying Monarch? As infoundnout last year you can't take Co2 cannister either in hand or hold luggage with them. Can anyone take two screw top cannisters out with them if they are flying EasyJet etc?
As FF has implied, Easyjet let you take 2 in hand luggage and 2 in hold luggage.... stated clearly on their FAQ page, so you can argue your case if they are stroppy... I've flown EJ with my bike loads of times, and never had a problem.
lets be honest.... its all prep for an Ironman on my 100th birthday
Funnily enough I was going to do a Wiggle order today. I'll add some extra in. I'm with EJ so hopefully can get some in my case/box + Hand luggage. I'll be happy to swap them for the training benefits of a 100 mile training ride if anyone has one of them!
I remember reading people saying that Lanza was too early in the year. I'm beginning to see why now!
is anyone else flying out on the Wednesday lunch time flight from Gatwick? I'm sorting out a minibus/taxi thing to take me and bike box to the Oceana village but if anyone's close by shout and I'll add them
Hey OC, still a few of us making the trip to the windy island. Guessing your training has been a mix of lots of biking and little or no swimming or running.
I've gone for a variation this year -zero swimming, little running and not a lot of biking (for me). plan is survive the swim, some how, then go easy around the island on the bike, and then run/walk / walk the run.
I rode the island a couple of months back, and did a one other 180k ride a couple of weeks ago, so i'll get around the bike course but it wont be fast. swimming - err 6 swims this year running - i did a 10 k run a couple f months ago so will get to 15-20k before the wheels fall of.
oh dear
10 kg heavier than when I was fast(ish).
I'm not taking the tri bike as it will be embarising being passed by so many others while looking like I should be going faster.
Me and the missus are in the arena dorada, not club oceania - so I need to exchange mobile numbers with the social secretary as it would be nice to meet for the odd beer in the evening.
I feel completely and utterly disorganised for this. In a weeks time I should be 30 minutes or so away from landing in Lanza and I feel like I've not a clue what I'm doing!
Help me out pirates!
I need... bike, race kit, beer money and a couple of t-shirts? anything else? I'm hoping I can fit all my stuff into a combination of bike box and hand luggage - is this possible?
I arrive in Lanza - is it easy enough to get a cab which will take a bike box or should I book something? I head over to Princesa Ico (which is opposite Club Oceano or so I'm lead to believe!) put bike together and check it works and nothing is broken. Then head over to registration with some the Pirates (If you'll still have me?!)
Friday, chill and rack.
Saturday - race
Sunday - drink beer
Monday - fly home
Is that it?! Sounds simple
Any specific tips on things to take that I might not have thought about only having raced in the cold UK?! Or tips for set up on the bike, I was planning on riding the TT with 52/36 11/28 set up. Seem ok?
And finally... do we have a list? I know there was one a few pages back but not sure who is actually racing / supporting... I'm (obviously racing no. 1014)

Hope it dries out otherwise you may need a eerie for the run
Is it time to start training yet..??

Who's the social secretary this year?
The Judge said I wasn't allowed her phone number again, something to do with it being against the conditions of the restraining order .... ??
Forecasts often understate the windspeed accross the higher parts of the island
