Yes because thanks for all the help and info at the start Becca.
That was seriously tough. But somehow or other I managed to get relatively even splits all the way which I didn't think was possible therefore lots of maths going on in my head but came in in 11.50. Really chuffed.
well done lowrez. You obviously weren't that far from me
seren you're amazing and we even bumped into each other on the course with all those people
Well done everyone, great to hear the results especially Lowrez, as I thought he'd missed the 12h gun, had been tracking you all, and Lowrez predicted time had been really tight and it hadn't updated to finish! Hope you all have a great time celebrating tomorrow, I'll be there next year.
Seren, such a valiant run. Hope my perspective that you had a great time sits well with you; every time I saw you there was a deep dialogue going on with other runners. You did amazingly well under the circumstances.
Becca, well done I know you were concerned about a sub10 brilliant you achieved it. For the first time I was scared about not finishing. Had mechanical problems from 10 miles out had to modify my gait to compensate otherwise I would have been a lot earlier (for me anyway)
Well done people - some valiant performances out there today! I didn't quite make the bronze big was more than happy with my second fastest time as training hasn't been ideal.
I haven't posted on here before but have thoroughly enjoyed reading the advice, which has been invaluable. Some fantastic running today in difficult conditions. It was mine and my wife's first and boy was it tough, but what an experience! We did 8:56 & 10:13. Dead chuffed with a Bill Rowen.
Seeing as I was there I held back being medal processed to watch the 12hr gun... Has anyone seen the footage (I have not). I thought a guy on the far left came through after the bang! I shook his hand and remarked what a close call he'd had
caashford: superb result for you! I looked last night and saw you were second only to Steve Way in the British contingent. Well done you! See you at M&B.
That's a fabulous performance caashford, in particular so soon after a hard 100k.
Great that you made it this year Debra. Fingers crossed for a successful return next year.
A valiant effort seren and you managed a fabulous distance in the circumstances. Hope you are doing OK today.
RR well done on a great run in the circumstances.
Marty well done fellow "half green"
Slow Duck - a very noble gesture to effectively sacrifice your race and I'm sorry it didn't work out for Colin.
MW and wife - fantastic results, in particular to get a sub 9 on the first try is fantastic. I saw your post on the 100 Marathon group on Facebook. I think you were both on the Emirates flights I was on. I think a few from your club do Comrades each year? You certainly have good hills to train on.
Great to have your support this year Dannirr and I hope that injury is better soon and you can start marathon training trouble free.
Thanks for the support Terry.
Sorry if I missed anyone in this or my previous post. Might see some at Mugg and Bean. I'm not eating there, life's too short, but will head over for the photo as I've never made it to one of these previously.
well done to all, some great results, sorry for those who didnt quite make it.
very tough day for me yesterday but just managed to squeak under 10 hours so happy. Think thats my hardest one yet and think it was the hottest weather i have run in here.
and thanks becca, same to you. i feel our green number journeys will run along together.
thanks to terry as well for all your support, especially at the end.
Thanks all again for so much helpful information on this thread, it really was much appreciated. i don't think I've ever done something so tough; crossed the line in 9:26 and immediately burst into tears to be given a shoulder to cry on by a lovely lady Marshall- hope that bit isn't on the official photographs!
Congrats all! I hope you're all enjoying a big breakfast and some cold beer at this precise moment.
Caashford - way to go man, unreal running yesterday.
Debra - massive well done to you and I hope the wait was worth it! Very chuffed to see you succeed in 2017
I also saw Lowrez's finish fail to come up after the gun and embarrassingly I sent him a note of support only to later find out he did make it after all! Nail biting stuff as always from you Lowrez - glad you put the gas down in the latter stages.
....deep in thought plotting for 2018's Down run, I have unfinished business there.
Congratulations on some great runs! That's an amazing run Caashford, you must be delighted.
Sadly a dnf for me, stomach problems put an end to my Comrades just after Drummond. Was fairly cheesed off by that yesterday but after a good sulk last night feel better today. Somehow have a feeling I'll be back for more

Good to share the experience of the start with Snail.
Nice to run into Mr Z a few times.
I was pleased to maintain my record of sub 10s as my preparation didn't go so well this year.

Well done everyone - great you did the sub-10 Becca. Sympathies seren nos - and well done lowrez!
Happy with my 10:36 finish - sub-10 was always a stretch goal for me. Bumped into a number of people I'd met previously, which was fun.
Next year: must get out for some long runs on the South Downs Way AND do lost more hill work and downhill-work AND do proper strength training.
Seren, despite not finishing, you did brilliantly give your hip problem. Wise to quit before doing more damage.
Well done again 'just in time' Lowrez.

</div><div>Super pleased with the result, but my legs aren't thanking me now...
</div><div>See you all at M&B for coffee and photo later. If I start walking from the Belaire at 09:30, I might just make the photo for 11:00...;-)<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6027274/uploads/editor/rg/9ckld2ke7yx7.jpg" alt=""></div>

safe travels home everyone.
Congrats on some great results in those conditions
I was happy to scrape a sub 9. I've also joined the half a green club

jkissane, sorry to see you were forced out by that problem. I'm sure you'll soon be thinking of next year
