Sunday 7th January 2018 - As logic stands you couldn't meet a man

Morning.

Lyrics - As logic stands you couldn't meet a man

Cold start to the day here and not forecast to get much warmer, at least that shouldn't be an issue in the gym. Look for the positives eh?

What:             gym and swim
Why:              can't run
Last hard:      not being able to run
Last rest:       6/1

Yesterday's lyrics - Patience by Guns N' Roses
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

Yes, you must take the positives, LMH!

What: gym this pm at some stage plus perhaps a short run and walk

Why: can't do anything until visitors have gone, i.e. after lunch.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Afternoon!

Before I forget: Friday's lyrics were Supertramp - Hide in your shell.

Didn't manage to log on yesterday. We visited the Eastern parts of the country and attended a New Year's concert in a castle followed by a posh dinner. Forgot my phone charger and ran lot of juice. Back home now.
Managed 7.5 miles yesterday before we set off.

LMH: your patience is really being tested this time!  Hope you didn't fracture a rib...  I once did that when I had a really bad case of bronchitis.

RFJ: well done you and Mrs. RFJ :+1:

Em: I've subscribed to Adriene's YouTube channel. This is the third year in a row that she's doing a 30 day challenge in January. The sessions are only 25-35 mins and very doable. And the first few are rather gentle so as not to scare away any yoga newbies.

First 50 mile week in almost two years completed. Happy :)

What: 6 miles to make 50 for the week
    Why: it's a nice number
last hard: thinking about the calories consumed yesterday
    last rest: 17/12
    Lyrics: no

Well done with the 80k week Chick! Don't be tempted to keep exceeding it!

    What: 2.5k run

Why: nice day but niggly Achilles

May or may not go to the gym later
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    LMH: Always look for positives:-)

    What: 5 mile treadmill run
Why: Too icy to run outside
Last hard last 2 days with the ice!
    Lyrics maybe so a no:-)
    ALF: Always a little further
    Miles makes smiles.

    Evening

    What: 9.5km this morning
Why: meant to be 10km, but was so icy I kept having to chose the offroad routes so was a little shorter than expected.
Last hard: that, though it was fun!
    Lyrics: nope

    Chick that's a great comeback!
LMH patience (though I know it's hard!)
    Ale hope you survived

    Have a lovely evening all

    Great stuff chicksta.
I had a milestone week of over 70 Miles this week for the first time ever, after another 20 mile run this morning in minus 6 degree temperatures, which wasn’t really pleasant and my fingers and still sore after freezing in the first few miles!!
It wont happen again as the two 20s this week were supposed to be 7 days apart rather than 6 but good nonetheless.
No joy on the lyrics I’m afraid.

Great to see you building the mileage back up so sensibly chicksta. To be honest the pulled muscle feels about as sore as when I broke my ribs but there's nothing to be done about it and a pulled muscle definitely has a shorter recovery time so I'm sticking with that:-)

Nice treadie miles Poppy - roll on the summer!

You're fortunate you could find somewhere that wasn't too slippery Donaldo. I can recommend tops with thumb holes and merino gloves, nice and versatile too so you can slip a layer off if you warm up too much.

Sorry to hear your achilles is niggling Alehouse. Just for info I tried to use the code on Sportshoes this evening and it told me it wasn't valid.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

It has been a good first week of 2018 over 16hrs of training done.

Why: Still have the big dreams

    Be careful out there everyone

    Thanks guys :)

I'm pretty pleased but the sensible head is still in place.  50 will be my limit in the coming months. There's plenty of time till Berlin and I have all summer to do big miles.

    Epic running,  Don.

    Gobi: decent running mileage :)

The discount code appears to have disappeared, LMH!

A big week, Don! Take care!

    More than decent training, Gobi!

Gentle gym session this evening: exercise bike and stretches.
