Had a 10 mile run over the weekend.......actually went reasonably well, I'll squeeze in a couple more longish runs over the next two weeks and then I guess it'll be half marathon time! 2:10 is looking good
Should get off my ar$e and order the t-shirt as well.......
will be running / standing around at the start (haven't decided which yet) in my URWFRC top... plus flag / ballons / still to be decided (anything that will embarress Pix into running faster!!)!!
Glad you are feeling better! My long run was only 6.1 miles in the weekend so am skipping club tonight as a rest day. I'm scared about this one now as have had so mmuch time off for injury. I think I will be running it really slowly.
How an earth are you going to run this one slowly, you don't do slow!!! I suppose you mean at a 8 min mile as opposed to the usual 7!!! No need to be scared about this one, with your ability you will be just fine, plus you will have lots of friends there. Have faith in yourself.
As for the t-shirt, if it isn't a cotton t-shirt I probably will. Shall we be twins? Maybe more like mother and daughter!
Yep, all of a sudden it's less than 4 weeks which means only two more weeks of 'hard' training then two weeks to taper.....I was talking to someone at work today who's running as well and they're suddenly nervous too!
The second website that barty refers to (the nt4309 site) is the exact same website as the www.readinghalfmarathon.co.uk site, the readinghalfmarathon website address just points to this nt4309 site.
Quick offer for anyone who doesn't know if they are in, TODAY (Tuesday) ONLY, I am working right next to the computer with the database of Reading entrants on, if you want me to check you are in, either email or post here your full name and date of birth. Please bear in mind that I have got a lot of my own work to do! so please only ask me if you aren't sure whether you are in or not, but the offer is there if you need it.
The website is fully up to date as far as we are aware, but various things such as differences in the way people entered their postcode may mean some gaps in the database
oh and if its the same as last year, the t-shirt isn't cotton, its breathable coolmax-style material
also, race packs will be going out to people about 2 weeks before the race day - they arent sent out till then because otherwise quite a few people will lose them or lose parts of the race pack (this is something I've been guilty of in the past!)
OK, was I dreaming? I looked at the t-shirt yesterday and I thought it was short sleeved. Today it is long sleeved. Have I lost the plot or have they changed it?
thanks Barty! Hope you all enjoyed your run tonight Funny how I always seem to be going in the opposite direction to you (Must be my upsidedown kiwi ways!)
