I quite nejoyed that. I think I came in about 22/23rd. Initialy I was dissapointed with my time of 43+, as I did it in sub 40 a couple of years ago, until someone told me that the course had been extended since then.
I did it! My first 10k! Took me 66 mins which I'm dead chuffed about particularly as its such a hot day and I found some of the terrain quite hard going. Hurrah!
I enjoyed it. Again, it was another run on the road back from injury and the hills certainly slowed me down; I cannot run downhill quickly either as extending the foot does not go well with plantar fasciitis but I clocked 41-08, my Bracknell AC mate Mike was 41-00 and Alex of fellow club Bracnkell Forest Runners was around 45, but I am sure he'll be here to tell you all about it.
A nice day out and an unusual Saturday morning run but it was top stuff and great views. Does the lead runner want to take a chainsaw with him next year and cut down those damned stiles?!
Mind you she also told me that she'd sort out the teams as she did the results. I said thankyou very much and cycled off into the midday sun. It was on my cycle home that I realised that there was no mention of teams when I filled in the form. So how she's going to sort out the teams I don't know. Unless she can tell from a signature.
Apparently the results will also be in the Bucks Exagerator. So if they don't appear at the link I'll forward them to you, if required.
Great run! Thanks to the organisers - I really enjoyed that. It's lovely to run off-road. Each time I do it I wonder why I don't more often. I suspect I'll be back to do this again next year.
I finished in 58:13ish. I have to admit to stopping my watch for a few seconds at the first style. I don't know what I was thinking - it's just instinct to stop the watch when I stop for whatever reason. I forgot that in races time marches on regardless!
I didn't see any forumites there but from those who've already posted I see we wouldn't have necessarily bumped into each other.
Ouch I said to myself after the first 1.5k. Where on earth did that hill come from. This is the 3rd race I had been convinced to run by Jeffsy (I'm Alex that he mentioned) and it's been the 3rd hilly course with extreme weather conditions. It was tough but good, although I was nervous in some parts with the ruts that had been dried up by the sun, making them "ankle-turners".
Either that or we are mad mad mad! I am praying for rain for the next one as I'll be dressed as a gorilla for the Great Gorilla Run! Anyone else joining me in the zoo?
I really enjoyed this race. Very different to the usual road race with all the stiles, footpaths and various hazards. Big thanks to Vic. All good training for the Henly Half. By no means a fast time, I think I was home in about 53 minutes. But with all the above I was relatively pleased. More importantly Mrs S had a good time and has now committed to the Amersham 5. I may have started something!
Sezzy (or anyone else has the results), please could you email me (email enabled) so I can send you my address so you can send me the results? I keep going back to the website to look for them, but in vain!
I do know the 2003 results off by heart by now, though ;-)
Vic emailed me the results. He has my address as I'd emailed him about the event before the day. His email address is listed in the organiser details of the event itself so why not email him direct?
If you enjoyed that one then come and run in this Sunday's 'extra'. Same Route different day and time Sunday 13th March at 11am. This one is in aid of Action Aid's Asian Tsunami appeal. E.mail me for more details or just turn up in plenty of time (registration at the Scout Hut Silver Hill, Chalfont St Giles from 9.30am). There is also a sponsored walk starting 10 minutes after the run using the same route, so all the family can take part. Vic & Chris layzells@btinternet.com

The first of many?

Will the results be anywhere?

Now get back to work stinging people for VAT and stop getting lost on training runs!
Chalfont St Giles is cockney rhyming slang for piles.
As in "Ello me old china, the old Chalfonts is giving me a bit of jip"
By the way, nearly didn't finish due to the bulldozer at about 8k suddenly doing a right turn. I had a right turn I can tell you!
More importantly Mrs S had a good time and has now committed to the Amersham 5. I may have started something!
Very proud of my 161st place though.

I don't want to post my address in case it gets picked up by a web trawler and I start getting more spam than I already do.
Would one of the others whose addresses are already posted here mind if I emailed you for the results?
Sezzy, how did you get them from Vic in the first place? Was there a way of ordering them or do you have contacts among the organisers?

OK - entry in the post. Just realised this one was on this weekend. I thought it was usually later in the year.
