strangely enough I did 18 and a half this aft and cramped and cramped but they were stomach cramps. Are you only supposed to use Dock leaves if you parked your arse in a load of nettles? And how do you tell when to stop wiping?
Only five weeks to go until some of us finally enter the unknown. I've just managed to book accommodation for me and the family, but my training has tailed off somewhat in the last few days. The reasons for this are that I have just experienced the first two phases of my own historic hat-trick 1) Friday 13th May - Millsy reaches the big 40. 2) Saturday 14th May - Millsy and 10,000 mates attend the Britannia Stadium to watch Simmo's Blue & White army regain football league status (for those of you worrying about end of season play-offs, trust me when I say there can be no greater relief than escaping from the Conference!) Which only leaves the final part, 3) Sunday 19th June - Millsy does his first, and possibly last, marathon. The dream goes on.
Anyway I've booked tomorrow off for this week's long run - didn't fancy it this morning after staying out until 1.15am, so by this time tomorrow we should be back on track.
Sorry to sound self-indulgent, but this has been one hell of a week-end. (The Blues are going up!)
Well done M&P . I did Richmond half yesterday in PB of 1.41.57 which I am welll happy with . That's 3 proper halfs now with a 2.40 something , 1.48 something and the above . I had a long chat with No.8 and Noel who did it as well , although somewhat fater . Well done lads . Now heres the spooky thing . I hadnt met Noel before yesterday . Got there in the morning and lined up for a no.2 and chatted to a bloke who I later found out to be Noel . Saw him at the end and went our seperate ways . Then saw him back at the road where we had both parked and he was right behind me ! I still cant get used to having a no.2 with 24 blokes standing outside waiting for me !
Mick, Thanks for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. Actually you would have run over half a mile longer than the distance thay gave you as you were on the outside lanes of the track. Hope that makes you feel even better! It was great to see you both again. Look forward to seeing you in Blackpool. Give Phil a hug from me.
well done M&P & Plod dam just got the sniffles - sneezes - this is NOT going to develop into a cold pleeease. as chester 1/2 next Sunday BUT good news - i phoned up the local hospice Nightingale House and asked if they wanted sponsorship so have a look at http:// www.justgiving.com/wrexhamrob with the training log at www.blogmold.blogspot.com go on put a £1 or 2 on - be the first! happy training all -- sniff
Well done Mick&Phil. Your right boys, you need to think about the distance in Blackpool. Half marathon and you'll be able to go for it, full and you'll have to take it easy with all the stuff you have been doing lately. Plus the weather. It may be a hot one. Saying that, do you remember Blackpool last year? It chucked it down for the first 14 miles!
well done M&P,Hippo and all the other ultra peeps.
5 weeks to go,OH NOOOO,PANICK
i pulled up on a hill session last thursday with a sore knee so rested friday and was okay saturday so i did 14 miles gonna have to up the mileage now cos i`ve never ran more than 15 miles and i think training is gonna be difficult next week when i`ll be in Istanbul with 30,000 mates.
