Just back from the run - fastest time this year but died on my arse. A few minutes slower and finishing strongly is much better when you have another 4.2 to do! I don't think the heat helped either, and we were 30 secs per mile quicker for the first 8 miles, so I think I got severe lactic acid build up. My legs haven't felt that bad for ages :-(
gorgeous day here again - been in the garden reading and catching some rays - serotonin loading for the seasonally affected!!
got up and went for a 35 min walk this morn - was horrid - felt grotty - tired and nauseus again
but when i got back and had a couple of cups of tea felt a bit better - but more worrying - had half a double decker left over from last night and felt loads better - worrying as ive been waking up in the middle of the night with dry mouth and thirst - im hoping its angst and dehydration and crap diet !! will hopefully get blood test results tomorrow or tues and see if its thrown any thing up
Re: Benz - doing it on treadmill today because don't know if i can be arsed doing the whole long run today - if i go my regualar route then I can't just stop - i have to get back home, but tready, can stop whenever i feel like it or carry on - only for today because i'm in a lazy mood
Hi all. I'm a bit outof touch as I've not been on all week. You don't seem too well Bune..hope it's nothing serious.... Benz..you been overdoing it on the tready then?..... Mr C...who is EDY....
and reindeer...20 miles...I feel ill at the thought. Well done you.
For the record I had a crap run today. Ran for 70 milns..about 7 miles I suppose but add on to that about 15 mins of stops due to cramp..needing to buy a drink....I got vey thirsty.... and blisters on both feet from shoes I've worn loads of times before. No idea why. Gone out on bike now to make myself feel better. Had wanted to do 90 mins and feel cheated now :0(
Afternoon all. Back from a hot and sunny 16mile race in Milton Keynes in which I was officially joint last in 3:08:51 with a very nice lady called Tricia. However, despite struggling with lungs all the way round, (legs were fine - yippee!)my time was still less than 12min mile average so I'm happy.
A bit concerned that I got the contracted airway stuff immediately after the finish again, the same thing happened at Silverstone, and it's quite scary not being able to breathe properly, but again it wore off after a few minutes.
Just in from 18 mile plod - very slow (just under 4 hours) but it was very hot out there. Well that's my last long 'un (until the 13th, that is). Just celebrated by eating half a litre of hagen daaz and a big piece of chorizo (don't ask!).
I'm trying to get the Seven Pools Run results online. Finally found my way to the website but they're not up yet.
Well done on all those long runs and races! HW, that must have been a fast race if your definitely-faster-than-walking time makes you joint last.
I did a more modest race today - a multi-terrain 10K. It was hard work (I'm sure Sutton Park was flat when I last looked, but it was bloody mountainous today) but I survived and think my official time will be around 53:15, with which I am delighted.
Stickless and Mr Stickless did extremely well and enjoyed the race too.
SP, 7 miles is good. Check out what you've achieved, and under trying circumstances. Are you in the UK today? If so, maybe the heat caused the blisters?
Sunburn setting in nicely now, have stripes on left arm from watches, and a very red face - glad I had the URWFRC hat on :-)
Bune, hope blood test results are OK, thenit will just be down to Pete Cohen.
Benz, are you at the end of your marathon shift yet?
