Hi guys, doing FLM for the first time this year... How long are people's long runs at the moment? I have done 10 so far, hoping for 11 or 12 this weekend - how about everyone else????
Did 17.5 miles on Sunday. It's my third marathon though and I've done many 13 mile runs over the last 6 months so it's not that much more than I'm used to.
Does anyone know of a group that meets in the daytime during the week in the Reading area? Training for my first LFM and evenings are impossible. I could use some company!
7 miles at the weekend - following the sub 4:30 RW schedule, but have to admit that this has made me nervous seeing as everyone else seems to be doing loads more!!
What sort of distance/pace are you looking at? I'm in FLM and do runs in South Reading on a lunchtime with my work mates but my location is moving to Green Park and will be running on my own. I could do with the Company
Running 9 long this sunday as I'm following the #RW sub 45 plan , this week I will have done 29 miles in total which is the furthest i have done in a week ever
10 miles last night which is infact the furthest since FLM last year!! Leading up to a couple of halfs and maybe 2 (at the most) 20 / 21 miles before the big day.
Longest run 8miles twice this year also following sub 4hr plan. This is my 1st marathon, my 1st plan is to get round same day, 2nd plan is to run entire marathon, 3rd plan is to complete in approx 4hrs, will be upto 29miles+ by Sundays long run (9miles), most ive run in a week also Mercury
Did 18 miles last sunday with hip injury(old cycling injury from 4 months ago that has suddenly flared up).No miles at all this week and no long run either, physio says injury not serious should be back running approx 2 weeks. This will be my 2nd FLM,was following a 3.30 schedule.
am running 3-4miles a day, 6 days a week, plus cycling and cross training. longest run to date will be mounts bay 10k on sunday, 6th. feb. this wil be 5th london and i have never run more than 13 miles at a go, still looking for about 4 hour finish. good luck to you all, but dont over-do it!!
Did 8 miles yesterday after 2 weeks out with injury(I had previously got to 18 miles.)Hopefully will be back to higher milage soon. Was following a 3.30 schedule as I mentioned in my previous thread. Have I lost too much training to return to a 3.30 schedule?
managed (huh, says who?) 12 miles saturday. I felt as if I had done the marathon! But I feel fine now and very happy I completed it (Hal's schedule), except for tight calves!
possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can

I run long only every second weekend (8-10 miles on the so-called short-run weekends), so I'm up to higher mileage earlier than otherwise

And it was all going so well - arse!
