My sampling rate is set at 5 secs; I download data after each run (or sometimes after 2 if on the same day) and then always delete straight away. I don't think that is the problem. I wondered if it may happen when the footpod isn't attached as tightly as poss ?
Sorry, I don't know what could cause this. I sometimes get weird peaks of pace or speed in the recording but on the whole the display is pretty reliable.
I bought my daughter a Polar + Pod (can't remember the model number off hand), she has been ill so is only just starting to use it. She, so far, has not got it to work properly. The HRM bit of it records her HR as being in a very high zone when she says that she is feeling very comfortable when running. But I think she needs to read the manual more!!
Btw I have just had a lecture from a friend I have known for the past 40+ years, on how I am wrecking my joints and bones etc from all my running. She does nothing at all. She is overweight too. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
And how did that feel, Hipps (or praps I shouldn't ask, cos atherwise why did she only do 1 ml)
ceal, does you daughter do enough to get properly sweaty, particularly at this time of year. Unless I have tipped loads of water down my chest to start off with (v unpleasant), it takes 2-3 mls to settle down and connect properly, and often goes through a phase of being ludicrously high before that
I think she does, she used to be an age group national swimmer:-)) She runs with ease, doesn't do exercise for months then just does it with apparently no effort!!!
Hiya Chouette You don't usually post this late! Finnish jet lag? Perhaps you had a snooze in the afternoon...
Long lunch today with our main client and wife (good friends too) and a few other people. Took care of most of the day. They are fabulous cooks and always have fab wine so I knew I would have to get a bit of running done this morning and then try and run home from the gathering. Which I did. So just 2 squashed in this am then a drizzly nearly 3 tonight. It was actually quite easy to run back. One steep hill (slow) then downhill all the way. So I'm still on target for my 30.
PHEW
Loads of stuff to respond to here and elsewhere. I don't usually take much note of these things but ceal got post 500.
I'm now pretty sure the ludicrously high HR reading yesterday was caused by not wet enough not clean enough strap. I will give it a thorough soaking and scrubbing before wearing it tomorrow.
Bliddy thing woke me up in the night with spasmodic pain Walking is not good this morning Last painkillers-yesterday lunchtime Next run-in a few minutes, sans painkillers , to assess what i should do tomorrow
Met ny massage therapist in some pub in birmingham!!!!!!!
She thinks i will be fine tomorrow
I will be asking questions about warmups next week
Hipps If we didn't know better your 'met my massage therapist in some pub in Brum' line could be taken as that's where you found her in the first place.
But assume you saw her again last night? (cue Mamas and Papas song) Stupid leg still hurting then? Please report back after this am's run. And do keep it short won't you? xxxxx
It was a lovely lunch Hipps although as I am getting dangerously obsessed I was more worried how it might interrupt my training rather than how it might mean I had to work last night and more of this weekend than I might fancy...
Sometimes feel a bit iffy with the word 'training' as it implies a level of seriousness I'm not sure about.
I eat loads and drank more than I meant to. Familiar story.
Posting now in hope not to miss you before you go out.
Morning ceal Dead interesting long post by you on O 60s - the one about overtraining. I can see the real benefits of traing with an HRM. There was an interesting post by SC about Tea and Toast Man's mileage and times build up on Hard Training the other day. A very rapid improvement in his average pace times over quite a short period.

Any other Polar peeps on here?

It feels as though i have organs in my thighs
a deep visceral pain
not sure about healthy

they had no power
and i came home cos i felt sick
I had to take 2 painkillers at lunchtime(after Yoga)
but the pain is different
best way i can describe it, is -well, a bit like the final fever of flu just before it breaks
but i felt vulnerable
so came home
thanks for that. That confirmed what I had said to her.
I wet the electrodes with water, then spit, which conducts electricity better.

A pub is a good place to meet your massage therapist! No pain.
