Steady on Mort - okay - it's green (very green) and it's flat (very flat) and towards the end it has good views of the racecourse which is also very green and very flat.
I'm really looking forward to that - the smell of poo indicating you're getting nearer to the finish (normally it's poo mixed with ralgex - that distinct pre-marathon aroma emanating rom the ladies loos)
So not only do we have boring and swamp mosquitos but smells too !!!
People in trouble at mile 4 ?? That's nothing. Go onto the Swansea thread and read Welsh Alex's race report - it's the most hilarious scribe of the year !!
Apart from the Greenaway (and the run up to and down from the roundabout) the finishing stretch at Stratford along the river Avon under the weeping willows is as lovely as you'll find anywhere - the highlight of the race.
Blacky purple markings you say Hipps????? I hope you aren't telling fibs young lady!!
I have a great plan- If I am awake the night before the race because I keep getting woken up by Greenway nightmares, I shall bring some maraccas and a tambourine to the B&B and put on my MP3 player and sing along loudly to my favourite Smiths tunes accompanied by my instruments, to keep myself and Runner Bean entertained. I'm sure she'd appreciate it.
Wow I'm liking the sound of this Greenway more and more by the minute sewage works, no insects, [cheers Mick] it's flat and it passes over the river..........Sounds fabs to me :-)
and Graham as much as I like tits I'm not to sure I want to be thinking of man breast; although I'm sure they are lovely ..............lol
I have finished work and I am now here to sort you all out!! How are things everyone? How are you MickNPhil? Is it me or does anyone else have aching legs due to slacking off training for the big event and dare I say it THE GREENWAY!!
Well just back on-line since Friday and like many of you I enjoyed the FLM, so well excited about next Sunday now, and never mind the Greenway, I am going to tear it up.
Got shirt, socks and a tri-suit from Aldi (my three kids expressions were something when I 'modelled' the tri-suit for them, they just kept asking me to promise not to wear it in public!!)
Tapering nicely, just a 4 mile jog on the treadmill tonight, feel heavier already tho'. Happy tapering
Well folks...It's looking very much like I won't be running on Sunday.
I have been nursing a bit of a hip problem for the past few weeks which seems to have flared up rather a lot in the past few days... I am desperately resting/icing/massaging and silently praying that it will right itself in time but I'm feeling rather despondent at the moment. After spending the last 4 months working really hard to get here, I don't want to let it all go to waste.
So...take a deep breath and blow some good luck this way...please
