Got my acceptance letter today - couldn't believe it came so quickly. And in an anonymous looking white envelope so I didn't even guess what it was.
Better get on with the training now - am working my way though a beginners program after 6 months off with injury and wondering how on earth I'm ever going to get there.
Somebody please reassure me that I've got time to get fit enough!

Am doing Berlin in 6 weeks so my training is already well underway!
You'll be fine.....Unless you feel up to it I wouldn't train past 13 miles before January. Just concentrate building your basic strength up.
Good luck.
Mike
Mike good luck for Berlin and thanks for the advice!
Now to plan the training...ooooh what fun (pity you actually have to do it..).
Sub 4.15 on the Furman first plan anyone??

* la lar la lar la la lar la la laaaar......'
Might look out for the theme tune as a ring tone!
Leg hurting after run yesterday...not a good sign! Body has obviously just realised what I signed it up for...
A Princess - no you still have to fill in the entry form. Last year I was convinced I had been rejected 5 times so like a fool told everybody I'd be getting a guaranteed place and then got my rejection letter in December...gutted. So this year I've kept quiet, applied as usual and didn't expect to hear anything for months so the acceptance letter was a wonderful surprise.
Hope you hear some good news soon.
Has anyone ever got accepted before being rejected 5 times, this is only my second year applying and I'm starting to think I might have a long wait until I finally get to do it.
Also, does anyone think the predicted finishing time you put down has a bearing on the chances of acceptance. I put 4 - 4.15 which I'm guessing is a popular one and therefore I have less chance if they spread it out by picking people over the range of times - if they do it randomly then why would you have to put it on the outside of the envelope.....
Tom - yes, was accepted twice in three years 2001 & 2003, but have applied all but two years in the last 15 (I think) first ran (thru acceptance in 1994) and have got in about 4 times in the ballot.
Question on the 5 times rule. I last got in thru the ballot in 2003. I was rejected in 04, 05 06 and 07. If I get rejected again (for 2008) can I claim a place for the 5 rejections including the recent one and still run in 2008? or will I have to wait for my guaranteed place in 2009? Does that make sense?
I've had a second letter confirming my 5 times reject place-I booked online. Has anyone else?
I'm only concerned because my son booked as well online at the same time (his first application) and I'm worried they'll send me two places under my name!
Off topic-how can he possibly be old enough for FLM -he should be at playschool!
I got a second letter today as well so I wouldn't worry!
I might be missing something but I don't understand your last comment at all!
I meant that it only seems two minutes since the child was in playschool - and all of a sudden he's old enough to run in FLM
Although he'd be extremely lucky to get in on his first application!
