Oh I wasn't offended, cliff face! Made me laugh! I thought "that HAS to be me' - I nearly went into reverse when that gust hit me!!! Thanks to all you marshalls for standing out there in that nasty weather for such a long time.
At the 9th mile yesterday I was thinking 'never again' and planning on passing my FLM place to someone else...but by this morning I was already thinking I will do it again next year and faster!! Must be a masochist at heart.
Not sure about Dick Dastardly, well I never was too sure about him anyway, but he signed on the day and had a high no. I'll find out at some point. Hope u had a good run.
Oh My Goodness - ran this one last in 2005 and did my second 10 mile ever yesterday - what a weathered beast i was by the end - 8 to 10 miles was one leap forward blown back five round those last few bends.. .. To the marshalls - you are the finest and friendliest most encouraging bunch of people i have ever known - regardless of weather or conditions you were there at every mile post and in between .. ... .. and BUGGER I missed Mr Jelly baby towards the end
Just awaiting timings now as so far No pics of me on official site - though mates do have phone pics of me - which are wet and windswept!!
Tracey, bless ya mate. Yup looked for your email after your question, and now answered. 118 is indeed in yellow, ghastly isn't it! Yes John it is. Really, honestly, truthfully, YUCK. If those flambouyant guys on TV, you know the ones I mean saw you, they would look at you and tut.
M2 I agree with your other half, i've just looked at your picture, you do look 12. It looks like your just running back from the shops with a pint of milk for your mum!!
Yep, you sussed it. That photo was taken by Tracey's husband about 10 seconds after we started. I always look miserable when I am running, I only try to smile when I see Dave Bennett with his camera so that I can con everybody. The conditions were almost exactly the same as last year's.
No jacket, but my number did try and beat me to the finish line.....i think it would have done if i hadnt caught it. I will keep an eye on the photos.....i really dont know why because i must have looked like a drowned rat.
Perhaps next year I ought to have a photo booth on the course and you run through it one by one . A long queue might put some runners off taking part in the race though.
I also had to remove a few where the quality wasn't high enough - most commonly, the autofocus playing catch-up with the runner. Given then Canon lens and Body I use has about the fastest autofocus around, it's just one of those things. I really only had one chance on the course, and the rainy and windy weather meant I wanted to shelter somewhere to protect the camera.
Just to say, that generally the pictures are better in the flesh than they look on the site. I usually 'enhance' the images that are ordered - by ensuring the horizon is completely level, and optimising the contrast and colour curves. I draw the limit at photoshop enhancement a la Vogue/Cosmo mags where legs are lengthened, eyes are brightened, teeth whitened and tans enhanced... But perhaps people would pay a lot more for that.
I hid away, but I had some hope of return on my investment in wet weather gear ! Gemma had it worse - but at least our car allows her to shelter under the tail-gate. Sam was happy as anything in his sling looking at all the runners.

i ran in number 521 and won, in my dreams!
I laughed when I saw the weather forecast...but congrats to all runners who braved the conditions...I remember last year!
I ran on Sunday, for solidarity purposes, in a temperature of minus 3...but it was blue sky and sunny!
So...Bo Bo....were you having fun?
Muttley - did you get my email about the photos?
Hi Seoul Man.... a picture speaks a thousand words as they say....

Have you tried searching by colour of top? Also, in his defence, it takes Dave a few days to load up all the pics.
All the pictures are now up... There were quite a few bunches where I couldn't get pictures of people who were hiding behind other runners.
Help on Finding Photos
