Sorry guys, I've been reading through the FLM thread I started a few days ago.
Okay, if you clear your cache you should get rid of your cookies, delete your history and remove any stored pages. Anyway, once done, it should mean your browser will only detect code from the updated forums and not the old version. Make sense?
All you need to do is click tools/options and then depending on your browser, find and click clear cache. That's the general gist of things for PC users.
If you're one of the many Mac users on the site (like me) then you may have to start with selecting tools or preferences (if you use Safari, it's under the heading Safari).
I'm happy for people to contact me if they want to know more about cache.
Once that's done, let me know if you're still having problems with text size.
Hmmm, don't want to clear my cache as I have w*rk sites that I use regularly and having cookies makes it easier to access stuff and not have to renter all my passwords etc.
Okay, can you please send me a screen grab of the text being really small in their message box?
If you're having this problem can you also provide me with the browser and version (eg IE 7) and your operating system (eg Windows XP). That way our techies can try and replicate the error.
I had odd txt size but just corrected it in 'view' and it's been fine since.
Cas and others - I clear my cache every time I log off computer and do not lose my bookmarks etc. It still logs me straight into sites that I've allowed that to happen.........obviously not the porn etc
Poorly feet - its not just you. I've cleared my history, deleted old internet files, changed the view text size, and all to no avail - I still need a magnifying glass to read what is in my text box before I submit it.
Thanks for the reassurance Dad Of Two. TR - I've just changed my text editor to basic and I don't like it! Yukky text and no smileys ( Honestly, you just can't please some people ;o) But thanks for trying!
And that wasn't the smiley I meant. Back to the drawing board. Actually - I give up for tonight - I'm off to put some Christmas decorations up instead.
Dan - the bit that shows who started thread isn't obvious enough. One of the main mantras on the forums is "If you don't like their threads, then don't read them". Please make it more obvious who started the thread please so it is easier ignore the thread.
As commented above, if you choose to activate the ignore member option, then you could miss a post that totally changes the gist of the thread.

Kaz - I'm with you on that one - I've too much history to get rid of!
I think you should fix it Dan - you broke it after all .
I've done all that deleting stuff but still can't see what I'm typing here, its so small
And I then had to log in again because I'd deleted all the info and couldnt remember my passord for ages and after all that I still get tiny print
Thank goodness I didn't clear my cache - would've lost my history for nothing
Over to you Dan...

We'll get to the bottom of this for you.

I've just done "View", "Text size", "Largest". Refreshed the page and....
.....made no difference at all .
Must go to Specsavers
Or did I do it wrong?

Kaz - have you checked in My Forum that your notifications default to On? I just noticed that was an option while I was in there changing my text.

The text in the post message box is too small.
the small font crap thing is putting me off posting
Is that the idea???
cos its working very well
anyone having problems with thousands of notifications can set their browser to automatically deal with them
Heres How
I think it looks quite nice. people will get used to the new look....
Thanks, RW Towers. :b:
