Thanks PSC - it's good to know folk still have manners!
As long as I'm here may as well have a wibble. My two A races for the year are FLM and this. Currently I have accute tendinitis and no bike so am off to a good start.
So far one xcountry duathlon done this year, Cowman and Stratford entered/paid for now looking for an oly down south somewhere before July. Any ideas anyone (don't fancy London - too busy)
Mouse - I'm planning to do Springfield (Corsham) sprint in May then Bath in July - but not sure whether to go for the sprint or olympic distance. Have you decided yet?
Gyraffe - I did the sprint last year and Dunkerton Hill is a b*tch. I'd like to do the sprint this year as well but really feel that I need to do the Oly distance as a build up to this. Although the bike course will be even worse!
Mouse - my thoughts exactly. I've had an injury scare lately and can't afford to overdo things. Am considering doing the oly route in training for experience but just competing in the sprint event for enjoyment. Best of both worlds without the pressure. I'll be kakking myself before the Vit anyway so why pile on the pressure.
Doing the Oly route as a training session is an excellent idea Gyraffe. I could be up for that. Maybe if we do it before July it will give us the impetus we need to do the Oly event with more confidence? Are you local? I'm in Bristol.
in my opinion (which isn't worth much I know) doing an oly doesn't really prepare you for a half IM anyway - if you've done some sprints you will have had the transition practice and that's what you need
some big brick sessions will be more beneficial I reckon
Would like to but to close to xterra cumbria. debbo before you say diffrent weekend I would like to be very fresh for cumbria, hills apparently, lots of hills and a bit of a fell run.
Agree with Debbo, get some good long brick sessions in. These will help with overall endurance, and teaching the body how to handle going from one event to another on a long course event
Any Pirates in Kent....? would be nice to do some longer rides, once the weather improves, with shipmates. My tri club is more focused on shorter stuff!
Its about 55 miles I think, starts and ends at Biggin Hill and loops & zigzags around the North Downs taking in Toys Hill, Yorks Hill, in fact lots and lots of hills (55 miles of hills). Pace would be as slow as the slowest is comfortable with.
sounds brilliant.... I'm up to about 40 hilly miles around the Wye Downs area (done slowishly 14 mph av) and with each w/e have more miles in my legs.... when is it?

Is there a list for this yet? Or just a lot of blethering?
Because, they've just taken my money, you see....
Hooray. Well done Mouse. I don't think there is a list yet.
Are you doing any other tris this year?
if there is a list I'm on it

only 200(ish) places gone?
Is this not filling up as much as last year?
My dates are out!

ok TT, I'll say nothing
Debbo - thanks for the tip. Bath sprint it is - and lots of long bricks.
Mouse - I live very near Bath so can meet for a ride on these hills any time you like once the rain goes away!
PSC where abouts in Kent are you, I'm in Blackheath but head out into Kent most Sundays.
Been going out to Bromley, Biggin Hill, Westerham, Godstone then back again recently (approx 50 miles)
Last year I spent all my time going out via Eltham to Brands Hatch but got bored.
I have to ride on Sundays (usually mornings) as the wife plays hockey on Saturdays so I get the kids.
