Right, I know there is already another Magic Roundabout 10k thread, and I'm starting another one - with bells on! ( Sorry Cathy, but read on, I think you'll like the idea.)
The Magic Roundabout 10k is probably one of the most scenic races I've ever done. It coincides with the Hay Festival. Last year I managed to combine an audience with JPR Williams, a comedy gig, beer, camping, cycling, and the 10k all in one excellent weekend.
I now Nam & TT are up for it, and possibly KittenKat, who else wants to come and play?

Proposed camp site would be through these people - you can take your own tent, or hire a tent or even a wigwam from them. Hot showers etc on site last year, so expect to be same this year, and just over the road from the coop, so convenient for all those little essentials.
WIgwam?
thats the mutts nuts!
Well done dad of two! Lovely to have you back and as such a strong supporter... I was just saying to a friend that because we live in Hay I think we just assume everyone knows what the festival is all about, For us it is a massive part of the year, well publisiced and in our faces - so we are stuck in the Festival bubble forgetting those of you 'out there' will not be aware of the FANTASTIC range of entertainment available. And we should exploit this in our race marketing too - it really does add an edge to what we can offer our runners over the weekend. One thing though - we are trying to get camping at the Begwyns with Kev - the farmer who is allowing us to park in his fields. This would have hot showers also, and would be a lot more 'reasonable' then the Festival orientated camping in town - and still only a few miles away. Watch this space!! If we can do it, we'll know soon. Also, got a licence for alcohol in the offing.... nice to have our own for this year.
All the very best - see you on an excellent forum near you, soon!! Cat
Hmmmm...... I was going to organise something for my b'day the week before, but this sounds more fun and a lot less hassle

thanks for the heads up about the race campsite - will see what everyone wants to do if there is a group of us, but my steer would still be to stay in or on the edge of town - walking distance to the pub, chip shop, festival site, and co-op!

You'll love this, and if you bring your bike we can do some cycling miles on Saturday at some point. The race itself will be a good final sharpener a month before before IMF (And clearly which ever event you decide to attend will automatically have the most social pull )
Went up by Hay Bluff on the day before the race last year. Excellent views indeed ( it was bright and sunny on the Saturday!!)
Will update thread as sson as Festival details are available.
Despite the weather last year it was great fun. As has been said, it cannot be any worse weather than we had last year, and everyone seemed to enjoy it even though they could not see.
If the weather is only half as good, and we can see twice as far, then the race will be twice as much fun because it is a really great place to have a race.
Beautiful views, soft underfoot, and no traffic!
Come and enjoy it.
I'll be chuffed if I survive it again!
Woman it can't be as bad as last year! stop wimping about
