I've been lucky enough to be allocated to you lovely supporters - OH is coming along to support as well, so can you look after him please? He is going to stay until I come through - which will be around 3:30hrs by my reckoning, then make his way to the finish.

Ooooh, just had a thought - I'm missing the Ipswich v. Norwich game to run the marathon. If someone could find out the score and perhaps let me know that'd be great!
maybe try some ibuprofen for the ankle (unless you are asthmatic.)
i wouldn't run with a phone because you will get people ringing you to ask how you are (it does happen!) i put mine in my bag on the lorry; this is all secure and gets a police escort from greenwich to the finish. i have internet access on my mobile; i will happily let you know the score. what time's kick off?
welcome lady sue. i was going to expo on thursday but if noone else is able to do sat afternoon, i can.

Forum name: RichardW – Group 5 I'm aiming for 11 minute miles. And this year I SHALL stay with the pacing group, even if I find it difficult to keep down with them at the start. Last year, I was talking to a member of my support group at Mudchute when they caught me up, went past, and I never saw them again.I'm number 26347, blue start, and I'll be wearing the scarlet vest of Herts Phoenix AC. At this point, it's traditional for me to say that, by mile 17, I should also be wearing a scarlet face...unless I stay with the pacing group. So, I'm aiming for a 4:40-4:50 finishing time.I have no special needs. I just like to stop by and say 'Hello!' and 'Thank you' to all those who turn up every year. OK, maybe. I'll be persuaded to take a jelly baby if one's offered.
I work as exams officer in a school - can I have the megaphone to get the GCSE girls to actually turn up on time, and on the right day, and with black pens in clear bags PLEASE! Too much to hope for I think!
Forum name: RichardW Name: Richard Whiting Race number: 26347 Estimated time to mile 17: Don't expect me before 1 o'clock...but no too long after that, I hope. What you'll be wearing: Scarket singlet, black shorts Any special needs: If anyone knows a shortcut to the finish...

Ha ha...we used to have a megaphone in the last place I lived.
Very amusing to summon cups of tea etc. when you knew someone was in the kitchen upstairs
i have just started a new job in a secondary school so i am thinking of using it for crowd control!!!!
am willing to hire it out to forumites for kid control also!
ha, ha tony. i'd never thought of that idea. although i won't tell my husband!

Estimated time to mile 17: I'm hoping about 11.5min miles - so about 3hrs 30 - can't do the maths ?1.15ish

Special requests: mainly just some encouragement - remind me that I really can do it! Although I never turn down jelly babies (or fruit cake).
Thank you!
Bootsie - bad luck about the ankle - I'm running with an ankle brace too after a sprain just when I thought the training was going so well (teach me not to be over confident). Its called an air cast and is brilliant - really stabilises the ankle and stops the anxiety of going over on it again. You wear it over your sock, so no blister problems. Are you taking arnica? I'm normally sceptical about 'alternative' medicines, but I really do think it works on sprains.
Good luck with it on the day.
