Hello Ray, we all survived the run. All the first timers got round too. Tiger got 2hrs 50 ish I think, Snicks 3hrs 40, rihK 3hrs 50 I got 4hrs 05, Legless 4hrs 15, JasonL was around that time too as was Dogwalker. Can't remember any of the others. A good time was had by all though, good luck next weekend, I tried to post on the NY thread but am being ignored on there at the moment. Maybe see you next March.
I'm going to try for a sub 4 in NY for the first time ever! I ran a personal best 4.7 miler last night in 32:58 so I think I'm done training wise. My best time todate was in Chicago last year 4:13. All my other runs have been over 4:30's. So Please Pray For Me.... and Pray Hard!
Snicks tells me you did me a T-Shirt with my name on. Thanks very much. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to collect it. However, I understand it was purloined from the stand!!! Who wants a T-Shirt with Ratbag on it????
The search is on for the 'Ratbag' that stole it.... and wolfy's....
Lost and Found: 2 tees, one ratbag, one wolfy.
By the way, when I was packing up my stand some bugger stole a brief case belonging to me... with an 8,000 euro laptop inside.... made my weekend I can tell you!
Somehow I forgot about Mr & Mrs Wolfy, they got round in 4hrs 50ish despite Mr W's knee giving out at 12 miles but he struggled on to finish his first marathon, even if Wolfy herself was running backwards with him, "to offer encouragement" and shouting at the crowds to shout them on.
Hi all - just back and ploughing through the results, which at first sight seem a little odd but I'll do what I can to sort 'em out and stick 'em up!
Can't believe there's nobody here just now. I tried to send a post from one of the internet consoles at Dublin Airport but it obviously didn't make it.
Great weekend, great to meet everybody and put names to faces to aliases.
We all did very well, to quote young mr tigerrunner . . .
RayO - so sorry to read of your lousy news - after such a great time with a great crowd of people it's a sad reminder that not everybody out there shares our outlook and attitude to one another. Hope at the very least that you had passwords on there?
More to follow . . tonight and through the week . .
Ray, sorry to hear about the laptop. i hope it was insured and that there wasn't anything on it that can't be replaced. It was good seeing you on Sunday. It certainly looked like you were getting some interest in your event.
Unfortunately I didn't get to meet up with the others but it looks like everyone had a great time. No doubt Monday night at Temple Bar saw a few tales over a pint or two. I had to race back to belfast to see the folks so couldn't be there.
Anyway, i had a cracking time and got round in 3.23 which was well inside my target (although it's got to be said that the first half was somewhat faster than the second .. so much for negative splits).
All the best for NY and I'm thinking seriously about Connemarathon.
My apologies to those who I haven’t found – sadly the results don’t feature our proper forum names :-)please add them to the thread so we know how you got on too.
And well done Sparks. What a result! Sorry we didn't meet you. You've got to do Connemara. Half the US contigent from Dublin are coming (Rich, that includes hairy man, man with tanned legs etc...)
oh no...not me I know I said between 20-22 miles "I am never, ever, doing this again....... but I cant wait for the next one now...... going out for a trot in a while........ god I must be mad!!!!!!!!!!!

Really sorry to hear about the laptop. As Mike says, I hope it was insured. 8,000 Euros sounds a lot. What on earth was it???
Sorry to hear that too Ray!
A few days rest now. That's the nice thing about doing a marathon, a genuine excuse to rest.
