The "hill" being mentioned is between 25 and 25.5 miles, after you come back past the castle and under the bridge - it's essentially a ramp from the footpath up to the road and is (if my memory serves) no more than 100m long......... probably less. It just seems a lot worse at such a late stage of the race.
Hill? Oh bugger. And at the end to? Double bugger. I got a false sense of security when i was told the 18 mile hill in Loch ness wasnt too bad but that hurt.
didnt mean to stir up a hornets race with the hill comment !!
It is just after the rugby pitches, it starts as a slope and then as you pass the hydro sub-station it gets steeper for about 20-30 yards. Its not really a hill but it will be a kick in teeth by mile 25 for me !!
When i went up it during the half in november i was running step for step with a lady just as the mountain rescue helicopter went overhead....we both looked at it and then at each other..... "were you thinking about asking for a lift?" says me......."damn right !" says she
Where is this hill on loch ness ?? I cant think of one around Dores.....(not lochside anyway.....)
Comments
MrsMac apparently there is a hill at mile 25, don't remember it myself and I have ran this marathon 3 times before
fellrunner are you going up the Ben on the Monday?

My mile marker might be wrong with Loch ness Adbru, between 18 and 19 anyway but it was a tip toe job for me trying to get up it!!
Only kidding about the hill, sure it will be fine with this one. I've been doing tons of hill stuff.
You've given away your secret fellrunner, you poach places at the hill. I'll keep it quiet.
Maybe one day Snowdonia, i never say never.
According to my 10 fingers though that's still 6 places ahead so good tactic.
Still spaces left according to site so doesnt seem to be full. Limit 600!!
Do you know of any good ultras in August fellrunner that doesn't involve difficult off-road bits and mountains?
Some weird and whacky stuff in here Ultracat.
