GO SHADES!!! Whenever I feel too tired to run I always think, 'would I rather be at work or at home doing the ironing?' and the answer is always 'NO!' and that keeps me going for a bit.
But then I've never run 262 miles in 10 days. RESPECT!!!!!!!!!
I had an accident at work yesterday and spent the morning in A&E. Was feeling very sorry for myself & doubting my ability to do the DD in 3 weeks time. Then as I suddenly had some spare time on my hands I caught up with this thread to see how Shades was doing. What are a few bumps & bruises compared with what these guys are putting their bodies through!
Do it Shades! Remember that you're a Trotter and that everyone here in your home town are all rooting for you. Go girl!
And btw when did a Trotter ever need an excuse to have a drink
Shades - Mini LB is including you in her nightly prayers!
She takes all the credit when her prayers are answered, so when you complete this amazing feat, then you can put it all down to a little girl having strong words with the man upstairs to keep you safe!
Great going SHADES, thats half done and counting downwards now. Hope the weather has cooled a bit for you, we even had a bit of rain down south so hope you got a nice downpour to clear the air.
Thanks for the hugs. My accident certainly hasn't improved my looks - my reflection in the mirror is of someone who might have just gone 10 rounds with Joe Calzaghe, but the worst of it is the deep bruising to my left thigh and right ankle. As I can't run until my stitches in my head are removed next Monday, at least my legs have got a few days to recover.
I hope it's not as warm in Cumbria as it is down here in Devon - does anyone know what time this morning they set off?
One of the other competitors (Michelle) took 27 mins out of Shades lead on Tuesday with a 5:41. In fact, apart from Friday, Michelle is getting faster as the days go on - Sat 6:11; Sun 5:59; Mon 5:54; Tue 5:41. Overall, Shades led by just 23 minutes after Tuesday. The third woman is over 5 hours behind. So, I await news from today. Shades may have lost the lead. However, there is stlll a long way to go.
so are we here..... Bobo and I were just chatting about it and concluded that with a trip to the physio and an early dash to the pub she hasn't had time to text/post.... We confident she's just fine and we will hear something shortly....

Have a great day - downhill to the finish now!
Just caught up with your progress, Shades.
You're doing great, as we knew you would. 5 in 5 is a phenominal achievement in itself.
Good luck for today. You're on the home straight now but no sprinting until day 10!

YOU ARE AWSOME!!!!!!!!

Brilliant progress. Hope the physio has sorted you out, and that today is more comfortable for you.
Go go go!
Well done so far, it should be all downhill now
Keep going and finish an awesome achievement.

The first marathon started at 10am, but they have been starting at 9am due to the heat on day 1.
Current temperature according to weather.co.uk is 13C, so pretty good.
When I was shivering on Reading station this morning I thought - good - cooler for Shades and the 10 in 10 lot.
Poor dunna
Hot in wales
and the midlands
hope it isnt in Cumbria
GO SHADES
Any news?
Hope its been a better (cooler) day.
Go Shades. All the Shadies are behind you.

Amazing feat from all of them. But Shades is top of the pops . Too early to be spotting winners. Its a strategic game!
