off to the dentist because I'm not happy about the tooth removal, it's feeling very sore and like it might be infected so going as an emergency to get it looked at. better safe than sorry
womble, be nice with that fireman, he's had a busy night *wink wink*
Please can I borrow him for a nice, soothing massage?
I'm currently on the phone at work being shouted at. The timer on the phone is on 14 minutes, and he hasn't yet paused for breath, so I decided that saying "hmmm" and "I'm sorry to hear that" approximately every 30 seconds leaves plenty of time for foruming.
He's just stopped ranting after more than 20 minutes. By the third repeat even he said "this is pointless, I'm just going round and round in circles". Er, yes, that's what I was thinking. Finally the penny dropped that no amount of yelling is going to change the decision that's been made, and BTW it wasn't my decision, I'm just the poor sod delivering the bad news.
Thanks TP, the masseur's lovvverly.
Left a bit Hun. Yep, that's nice. Maybe a bit lower? Aaaaahhh.......
It does sometimes take the public a while to work out that it doesn't matter how much they rant, rave and repeat you're still not going to change your mind. It usually just makes me more determined to dig my heels in.
I am still wrestling with my rotas. It's a lot easy doing the rota for the bar in here - do you think I could run this place on the 'turn up and work when you have time' principle? Maybe not!
Oh dear Loon that isn't good, both the infection and the not drinking. Might be worth checking the specific abx to see if alcohol is forbidden or just 'not advised' ... in which case a one off birthday blowout will be fine. There is a website you can check or you can phone the pharmacist ... I've done the same myself in the past.
it's forbidden with one of them TP, with dire warnings of you will be very very ill. they said that at the hospital and the pharmacist emphasised it, he said you have to leave it two days after you stop taking them as well. apparenlty it's really dodgy to drink with these ones
Oh well, best not then. You don't want to appear breathless, flushed or even dead!
Guess you need to decide if you're still going ahead with the outing or if you'll postpone. I had to call off my birthday outing in 2006 due to bad flu, we ended up going out the month after and it was a great night ... but maybe that's as people are all partied out in Dec anyway and something to look forward to in Jan was just what they needed.
<wraps Loon in fleecy blanket and takes cuddly fireman out of cupboard to keep her company>
I shall speak to the other peeps, I think what we had planned doesn't really need lots of alcohol a trip out in london, a meal and a comedy club type thing ...
No it doesn't really need the wheels oiling that much. Good company is more essential than a beer or 7. It's just if you're feeling poorly you might not be in the mood for a day out .... then again it may cheer you up. I don't like going out when I'm not 100% as I usually go all sleepy and flat very early on.
read back - i realise i may have seemed gloomy last night by saying 'work ain't going well' - all i meant was that i was too easily distracted by online nonsense to concentrate on the task in hand! not a big problem!
2 birthday celebrations sound good, although if these antibiotics don't work I might not be up to saturday, but hopefully they'll do the trick and I'm really looking forward to a night out, I need it after the last week
Been for a plod. Meant to go 5 miles but misjudged route and ended up doing an extra mile and a bit I have only lived here for 15 years so I suppose it's only to be expected.
<pours glass of rose to compensate for extra plod>
Evening PS. Can I be minstered too next. Nothing wrong with me except a bit tired and sweaty. Does that count?
Loon, if you need to cancel Saturday it's really not a problem. It's your celebration, and if you feel pants then putting it off until you feel more like it is fine. We will mark the occasion, even if it needs to be a few weeks later when you're feeling 100% again. Besides, ST and loads of other people will be back from holiday by then, so we can really trash your liver.
Your call, really really really, just let us know how you're feeling

<shakes out crumpled fireman and puts him in cupboard with his mates>
Glad you had a good birthday Loon. Hope your head isn't too sore today.

I think he's a client of mine too Hash ... or maybe it's his brother. Certainly sounds a familiar rant.
<dispatches masseur to Hashland>
Thanks TP

Amazing what they can do with genetic modification these days. I hope you don't grow an extra toe or nostril .... 'tis not perfected yet!
I'm off for a quick shower.
*counts nostrils and toes*
appear to be ok so far
Glad to hear it!
