This will make a lovely training run for Beachy Head marathon. That heart break hill is something else. A very nice man with the initials JJ says it was less muddy last year. I have not ruled this race out yet, but it is in competition with motor race at Silverstone.

looking forward to this, but if the ground is dry is this an anklebreaker?
Hi,
I also want to do this as a Beachy Head training run, looks really fun! But I'm wondering how accessible it is by public transport- anyone know exactly where the start is?
Also if anyone is driving from London (or nearby) with a spare space in the car, I would love a lift- happy to share petrol costs
I've entered regardless of the problems of getting there! I read somewhere it's only about 4 miles out of Tunbridge Wells so I can always cycle, will be nice and warm by the time I get there!
Really looking forward to it now!
Any advice on the course from those who've done it before?
Don't think I will be challenging for a new course record then JJ...
Yay, I love hills. No really!
Harri - I did it in road shoes two years ago.
JJ - I may come along on the day, but I have a joint 40th birthday party to go to. I may be more tempered if you save me some cake I love cake
I've just entered and will be dragging Mrs DV round kicking and screaming all the way no doubt..
I hope its as good as it sounds or I'll be in big trouble..!!
I've just entered too.
Like the idea of the beer tent!
Should be a nice warm up for Amsterdam marathon next month.
It was dry in 2006 and the rutted ground took a few minor casualties.
Excellent beer tent at finish. (Excellent beer and free - what's not to like?)
I couldn't find a way to get there without a car without cycling from TW.
FREE beer tent did someone say?
Well I could always just jog from TW station, if its 4 miles!
Yes, would be nicely warmed up for the start, and the jog back will knock the mud of my trainers!
There is a station in Eridge too, which I'm pretty sure is closer- I think I will be cycling from there.
Looking forward to it...
Guessing it will be quite soggy underfoot?
What shoes are people wearing? After all this rain I'm thinking about wearing my Adidas Swoops- anything to give them an outing
But are there any tarmac/paved sections? Swoops aren't very cushioned and I don't want to destroy my knees!
See you there in a short while.. the weather looks good this morning...
Well.. that was fun!
It wasn't as tough as I was expecting, but it was certainly muddy! My shoe came off at Cheeky's Bog and I had to search for it in the mud and then my leg got stuck and I needed pulling out by another runner...! Thank you, whoever you were...!
Brilliant event.. free beer and cake at the end, plus a t-shirt.. and all for just £8.
H@P
yes.. sorry.. forgot to mention the excellent organisation by TWH.. marhsalls were everywhere and all very well organised and encouraging.. the bigger events can learn a lot from this.
A top notch race
