Looks a great route this time round, pity bout not running through Bailgate but at least the Cathedral and its cobbles are still a feature...... Im looking forward to it after missing last year
I don't know how may I've dunn but I will be there beating 46minutes from last year...Can the organisers try to put the start at the roundabout again because couple of year was out of controle 5 years running and how many of them .Is Silly?
This race was my first ever 10k, some 5 years ago now. Am thinking about making the six hour round trip to run it. Were the problems with the start resolved last year, or is it still very congested? I see the price has gone up again - popularity, I suppose
the starts moved according to the route map, its just outside Yarborough school now (was there in 2005) its quite wide so should help.... plus late comers will filter into the back instead of clogging up the front.
Good luck with the sub 46 Speedy.
Bunny, price rises seem to be hitting races nowadays, Great North Run is £44 to enter! Where are you coming from though? 6 hours round trip is commitment
Hi Speedy..... have just tried it and works now. Its a PDF file tho, have u got adobe?
davidt, I had dilemmas last year with clashes..... as in GNR clashing with round norfok relay!! its a pain when it happens aint it, I ended up doing the GNR but they clas again next year but will do the RNR.
Nice to speak to you again.I newit Lincoln 10K route was in 2005.I pleased the organiser had a rethink.Well Done It take 5years and it never work then like Timing,Chip Playing Up,Cars on Route,Medal and T Shirt not in pairs. We have to Scramble. But now there are listen to us.This is my 15th Lincoln 10K.But somehow My number 6065.But surely I enter early and m number should be lower because I dunn 45minutes last Year and that was ELITE time?
Ive got my number today 1109 really looking forward to the race i hope it all run smoothly on the day like last year. This will be my tenth year of running this race i must admit it is one of my favorite races of the year.
Yes its will because reduced how many runners applie and the start the old route since 2005 with a new twist. We go along south of Lincoln towards the side road to Lincolnshire Show direction pass the Garange overseeing the Castle in the distance then normule route until we finish beond the Catherdral nearest to the Lawn.It will be much better and Safer?
My 4th time doing this, missed last year due to doing Ashby 20 in Prep for marathons. I prefer the start on Riseholme road as it also means late arrivals filter into the back of the start area. Was hoping to have a real dig this year but just had to take 8 days off running due to chest infection so its a bit up in the air now how hard I can hit it. Looking forward to it though.
I'm tempted. With a bit of luck and careful training I might be fit enough by 21st March. Anyone know the last entry date or if it fills up quickly? I only usually do races you can enter on the day as I never know whether I'll feel like racing till I wake up :0)
Well I really glad we go back to the old route about time too.The organiser changed it because Roadworks(I think). But there should leave the 2005 route well alone and reduced the runners down to 900 instead of stupit numbers.I can not wait?
I'm running this for the third year in a row, its my local event.
Not sure what to make of the new route, not sure whether it makes it easier or not, I agree with you Dave hopefully the wider start will help with avoiding congestion.
Or at least some waterproof running shoes and some waterproof shorts and some waterproof socks and some waterproof...... errr......................glasses?????????????
I'm doing this, second year running, i'm not an elite tho, last year did it in 65 mins, aiming to beat that is all, my only critism last year was how congested it was at the end, but I suppose that could have something to do with there being 3000 odd runners finish before me !
