Bats - think pb is unlikely. All my previous races have been on flat courses. The Bolton course (terrain) is not dissimilar to where I live so hoping to get 58ish and definately below 60.
i should pb on it as the current one is rather slow. im also doing one in blackpool 2 weeks later that should at least get me a faster time with it being flat.
A PB for me as well of 1:00:11, agonisingly close to getting under that 60 mins barrier Wasnt expecting to get under it today so happy I got so close really.
My first time on this one and I enjoyed the course. Challenging in parts, i'm thinking that hill at approx 4 miles, but a quick dowhill last mile or so that helped me get so close to breaking the 60 mins.
thanks Lizzy & Griffsters and well done yourselves too.
Lizzy, always good to get your target time in. id of been happy to get around running it all and beat my old 10k time from sept last year, to kill it was very pleasing lol
So close to the sub 60 Griffters, a flatter course and it should be yours (blackpool in a couple of weeks is nice and flat). trafford 10k (sept i think) is supposed to be a really good pb course.
I was helping out with the tshirts after i finished so probably got to see you both without realising it lol.
Hi. I managed PB here today, and doing Blackpool in a couple of weeks, too. Found the race really well organised, friendly marshalls and good atmosphere. The kids did the fun run - only quibble was that it was a bit early for my lot, running at 8.30 and travelled from Blackpool, but we all enjoyed it.
DrK, i was glad you were not running, the support around 6/7k from you ws much needed at the time
Congrats Paul, DesRes and Sally on PB'ing too. seems like it was a good day for them today. may just stick to doing the fun run with the little ones next year (unless i can get a sitter for them while i do the main event).
now to try and lower it in blackpool and then just enjoy manchester the week after that.
well done on your run Dinda, how did BB get on? we had rain just before the start andthe sun never came out until towards the end.

I've got the manchester run as well in a few weeks, not sure I'll be able to fit in Blackpool as well, thogh it does sound good. I cant find the trafford one in Sept, only the one not so long ago? Will keep an eye out for that though seems a very popular, and flat, course.
Which shirts were you giving out? I needed one out of the 'large' box
A belated thanks to marshalls as well, I remember DrK as well at the top of that hill giving out encouragement. As a relative noob to this running lark I think its great clubs organise stuff like this - they have a certain charm that M/cr and BUPA cannot recreate with their big volume events.
that hill was horrific.. this was my first ten k and managed 59.37, i'm pleased with that. does anyone know who was taking the pics and where i can see them? thanks

Managed a PB too at 43:30, had my t-shirt on all day!! LOL
Yes, thanks to the organisers and all the marshalls for providing us with another superb run out.
Really enjoyed the course and atmosphere plus knocked over 2 minutes off last years time.
See you next year...

@ Dr K - 6th year doing this and first time have managed to run up that hill - very pleased with myself.
I know is not organisers fault but a few cars trying to run the field into hedges on narrow Radcliffe road did un-nerve me a bit!

did not see her as there where so many runners but i think she would have done ok
Griffters, i was between x large and xx large lol.. i had a white adidas tshirt on for a bit, but once i cooled off, threw the event shirt on.
DrK will hopefully provide info for the trafford one (i think its trafford lol). i think they do it twice a year, though could be wrong.
bupa runs are good for the crowds, local runs are good for the friendliness.
the car thing does not sound too good Clare, i may of developed runnuers rage had they done that to me.
im suprised she never stalked you Dinda lol.
results....
