I can't afford to enter for 2-3 months, but I am assuming there will still be places. Imuk only in 2009 to 4 IM races in 2011 means they are not all gonna fill up....( hopefully)
There actually 6
IMWales IMshit Big Woody Challange Henley Enduroman The Outlaw
I should think you will have a few months, but if you want guaranteed entry then get in asap.
Just had a school reunion and met up with a friend who works at Bluestone National Park Resort and it looks like a great place to stay if you're doing IMW. Based near Narberth about 20 mins from Tenby.
Lodges, cottages, self catering or not, spa, shops, restaurant, pub... all completely self contained on an ex-farm. Looks lovely. She said she'd look into getting a special rate or something for IM people. But give her a chance - she's going to look into it on Monday.
Bluestone national park is lovely but it tends to be quite pricey especially if your not going to be on site alot to make use of the facilities (its like a smaller center parcs) Lovely place to stay though
"FB will be out of retirement for this without a doubt, will it be his swan song ?"
dum de dum
IM retirement for me has been delayed for another 12 months as I really can't not do it can I?? and breaking news - Petal may (but not guaranteed yet she's still mulling it over) have delayed retirement as well.....
but this month's entry fee has been swallowed up by the need to replace a dishwasher which has gone kaput so it will have to wait a month or so before I enter fully
I´m keen to have a crack at this . I never expected to see an IM in my home county, a dream come true(or bliddy nightmare?) Atleast I have relo´s to stay with.
Will have to decide after x-mas due to ongoing job insecurity. Not going to be without job, but hating the current arrangement and might move countries again, which may make training, settling in and all that carp too tricky.
As for the cousrse, sea´s not normally lumpy in that area but for sure will be a harder swim than any of the IM lakes, with a bit of luck they will make it short. The bike course will be very twisty with short sharp climbs, not much chance to stay comfortable and grind it out, could be a long day in the saddle. The running bit´s always a social event anyway
is 8iron around to give some idea on the take up so far, the website is a bit lacking in any detail which personally I am not bothered about as its an IM at the end of the day and the course is going to be what it is, just be nice to get some idea on what kind of numbers have signed up.
i think 8iron is just here to promote the event on as many threads as possible..... well IMUK threads at least.... apparently not on the outlaw one tho... weird.
Not weird at all, if people want to do UK based Ironman surely its only sensible people persuade them to do one a race which stands a chance of being better organised.
I've not entered yet either waiting to see what happens with my body/leg once this cortisone wears off. I have 9 friends who have signed up so far plus I'm in the promo video twice so I have to do it really And its in Wales, see what I'vew done there I'm in never mind the poxy leg I'll do it one legged. Damn it

Bring it on!! (sorry I'm catching up on 225 episodes of IMTalk!!!)

committed but not entered
satisfied??
P's not definite yet - she'd rather do it as part of a relay (and has a ladies team lined up) but I don't think there are any relay places.
I did think about the idea of getting as many of the IMCH05 crew back for this one and make it a reunion event. you interested??
