Advice needed. I went to try out my local athletics club and during the col down stretch i felt a 'pop' at the inner, top of my thigh. The pain radiates down along the inside of my thigh down to just above my knee. What have i pulled, and how can i rectify it. I'm meant to be running Brighton 10K on Sunday. Eek.
I thought i would do the obvious ie:
Rest (have a 3 mile slow plod planned for thursday, do you think i'll be ok?) and take some anti inflammatory pain killers.
What do people think.
thank you.

I ce (frozen peas)
C ompression (press the bag of peas to your leg and maybe strap it on with a bandage
E levate - lift the limb up above your hip to prevent blood pooloing in the injury
do this for 24-48 hours (20 or so minutes every hour) when ever you can -
might be a tear in the muscle - which could take a couple of weeks to heal properly
Do NOT risk anything and forget the 10K.
I injured an adductor and was told it was a "bad back" with referred pain. For a back you should keep it moving as possible - for a groin that is the LAST thing you do. I have now been inured for 4 weeks and it will be at least two more - maybe MUCH longer.
I have read anything and everything on adductors and groin strain since. It is a nightmare area. REST.
Homework!!
