I think Ed has an email address for you Finn... that is unless there is some-one else in his mailing list as "Finn24".... which I doubt. Maybe there's a typo in the address he has.
For anyone lurking , until it goes up on Runireland , you cant apply unless you have a sterling chequebook. I got the entry form emailed by ED but i will have to wait to do it on line.
Yes Robin it is the West Highland Way Race. I haven't run it before, eek I meant I keep saying no more 24 hour races!! This would be the 6th IF I did it
The forum is still going strong - good stuff. Bummer that you won't be running this year Jonny
Submitting my entry this weekend. Be good to catch up with you all again as we circle endlessly around the track
Finn - all set for Connemara? Just thought I'd let ya know that there's gonna be an Invitational Marathon the day before, if it's something you'd be interested in doing? I done it last year. Was great fun. Good way to get 65.5 miles over 2 days on the most amazing course.
Ray is posting details on Wednesday on connemarathon.com. Will keep ya posted.
Excellent Jim. I'll see yourself and Robin at both of them (Mourne Way & Belfast 24hr) I won't be running Belfast marathon this year but I'm seriously considering Newry. The last marathon I ran proper was in 2009, so it's been way too long, Have you ran it before Jim?
Im a bit nervous of doing too much the day before Connemara Ultra. I did zero mils last week with a sore foot and mileage this weeks aint great either. Not sure what to do . Probably best to leave it out. I can always do a long run on the following day if I am not trashed.
Graeme, Pity you wont make it this year. It wont be the same without you .Hope to see some of you guys in Belfast in May.
Greame no never ran Newry before giving it a blast as i i am pacing a group round belfast so cant go for a time there and like you i have not ran a proper marathon since 2009
Went pretty good cheers Robin. Yesterday wasn't too hot, saturday was warmer. Felt nice to get a 65 mile weekend and managed sub 6 for the first time (3rd attempt) yesterday. Results for yesterdays races are here; http://www.connemarathon.com/provisional-results-half-full-amp-ultra
Sorry guys. Having internet trouble. Will update you again on the ConnemaraU.
in the meantime.... HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP!
I am pacing the Limerick marathon on Sunday and wont get to Belfast until Monday morning. Could any of you collect a race number for me ,Please? I could meet up at the Belfast eye or if there is anywhere you could deposit it for me I would be so very very grateful.
Finn that wont be problem let me know your number and and i will get it for you i am pacing the sub 4hr 30mins group on monday and will be running about at the start of belfast with a ballon stuck to me so wont be hard to spot
Fionnuala O Mara -number is 1018. MY mobile is ( 353) /oh eight seven, two four five three nine four nine. Finges crossed I am not bothered with unwanted stuff now
I didnt get this message Jim cos I had no internet so was in a bit of a panic until I eventually saw your lovely face. Phew.
I hope the pacing went well for you . I managed a 4.10 on a run /walk strategy so was happy enough. 5 hours in the car on the way home was torture- felt like a tractor had driven over my legs...but they arent too bad today.
Going to pin my colours to the mast now and admit I am going for the 100 mile target this year. I think I might also ask people to sponsor me as that would also give me incentive to keep going .
I think all of us are capabel of it this year , now that we know what lies ahead
finn Iam the same as you ,I am attempting to go for the 100 mile mark as well(jim is also doing the same ). I will be getting sponsors as well to keep me motivated.I can picture the intense faces come 5pm on the saturday, with ed shouting out what distances every one has done

good man jim I think the entrties will go in quickly.
Rather than posting more graphic bodily disfunction descriptions... simply, I won't be doing the 24 hour this year
I'll be there to support ye all though!... and sneak off to my bed which is only a few minutes away!!
